Steve Blake led us to 54 wins, and we have no problems scoring. I scoff at how much you don't get it.
It's a good question. Obviously Nate knows more than I do, but I'm starting to doubt that he's really as good as people think. This team hasn't been prepared for 1 single game this season (maybe the Phoenix game in the pre-season). As much as the Jazz annoy me, one thing you knew about Sloan teams is they had a system, and were hard working. If this team under-performs during the season this year (and it's not due to injuries), Nate's honeymoon needs to come to an end during the season. Of course it's early, but patterns are present.
I thought Brent Barry's response to that was the best I've heard. (paraphrasing him) "I like Steve Blake, I think he's a good player. But if you honestly think that team won 54 games because it was Steve Blake who started, you are sorely mistaken. That team won 54 games because of Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge".
If the team is hovering around .500 and playing crappy ball like we are now at the All-Star break, is Nate in the hot seat? Or will it take missing the playoffs?
Steve Blake did not play bad tonight, he had 6 dimes in the game. People always just look at how many points he scored and how well he shot from the field but fail to take into account if he was indirectly involved in other people scoring. Miller scored more points but also only had 2assists. Also take into account their defense on the other opposing PG.
Steve hit his first 2 point shot of the year tonight. His assists do not usually come of off him creating things. He is bringing basically nothing to the floor so far this year, as Miller has been playing better defense.
Well I don't necessarily agree with your last statement. Brooks scored 12 points while Blake was in the game and 16 points when Miller was in the game.
John Wall is the likely 1st overall pick, we don't have a chance at him. I think we should go for DJ Augustin or Mike Conley.
How often do you here of young teams winning a championship? Stop trying to fill every position with a young player. Veterans are just as important. You have Miller. Use him the right way.
This. The sooner that joke of a coach McMuffin is outta here, the sooner a winner can come in and start whipping this bunch into a competent basketball team.
