Not to hijack this thread, but how about the mighty Cesc? He has been on-form this season. Bulged the nets against the scum last weekend and got two in Champions League yesterday. I really like our squad this year. Good depth, strong on the wings, Gallas and Vermaelen give us some threats in the box on set pieces. I don't want to jinx it, but I'm feeling good about our chances for some silverware this year.
Yeah, he has been fantastic. I believe he has 14 goals so far this season in all competitions and a handful of assists -- He has been fantastic. Scratch that, every player has been fantastic this year. Vermaelen, our new centre-back, has been a solid wall at the back. Gallas seems a new man. Song has been working like a horse in his new holding position. van Persie is just... van Persie. etc etc
No, it pretty much sucks. Also linguist != being good at learning languages. I am a linguist and I am terrible at learning languages. Me? The Netherlands edit: why? Because Dutch is an adorable little language and I am attracted to and have lived in very internationally diverse cities. Plus, Haarlem is like the prettiest place that still has a culture I can connect with. Also, I think there is a very interesting debate going on in the Netherlands right now between the liberties being granted and the conservative movement that resents them, which mainly consists of Muslim immigrants. The mainstream Dutch are pushing back against the Muslim population, and extremist Muslims have retaliated. The Dutch aren't exactly known for their polite social skills, and the Muslim population is taking offense. True, this push and pull is going on in all sorts of other countries, but I think the Netherlands is close to the edge of an innovative place, and I'm interested to see where their explorations into morality will lead and how that will be affected by their overall national philosophy towards immigration, as well as how the conservative mentality of many of the immigrants they so accept will be a factor in all of this. I mean, uh, WHORES AND WEED
Croatia. Maybe in Split or Dubrovnik. Beautiful coastline, cheap, hot women, few American tourists, easy train ride to the rest of Europe. England would probably be my first choice if I had to take into account family, though. I've never been to NZ, but every Kiwi I've met has been pretty cool, and it looked fantastic in LOR. So yeah, I could settle for that too.
that is not a country anymore. additionally you better like surfing and hiking, because you're going to get bored real fast.
