looked like he met him just as he met the ground. Already in the air if you ask me. but I could be biased ;)

i thought he was already on the ground but it doesnt matter. it was a good stop by the ducks, but they cant seem to put everything together. they will go drive down the field, but let stanford do the same. then they will stop stanford, and go 3 and out on offense.

I think we can all agree that Notre Dame losing is excellent.

Beat USC, then bend over and take it up the ass from Stanford. They will also lose to 'Zona and OSU, so the season is a disaster after all.

I should have stuck to my guns after the BSU game: Kelly is in over his head.

    Tough loss.

Oh well, at least we're a damn better team than OSU.

Still in the driver's seat to play a crappy Big 10 team in the Rose Bowl. The only thing the loss did was leave no more room for margin of error.

This is not too bad of a loss. I'll explain why.

    1. We are still in the driver's seat for the Pac-10 and for the Rose Bowl. 2/3 remaining games are at Autzen, where we haven't lost all season. The biggest threat for the Pac-10 right now is (I can't believe I'm typing this) Arizona, but they still have a very tough schedule ahead with Cal and USC on the road, not to mention the Ducks (which will be a big game).

    2. It is almost impossible to go undefeated in Pac-10 play. Only the most stacked USC teams in recent history have done it.

    3. To be honest, the national championship game, even if we did win out, was highly unlikely. There's a 90% chance it's gonna be Texas vs. whoever wins the SEC championship.

    4. This was, by far, the best game Stanford has played all year. They had an extra week to prepare, and you could tell that that helped immensely. I've watched several Stanford games this year, and that was by far their best performance. Luck was phenomenal (and the best QB we'll face the rest of the season), Gerhardt couldn't be stopped, and EVEN THEN we were able to battle back and ALMOST pull off an epic comeback. This team doesn't give up, and I think that could be the key to a win down the road.

So keep your heads up Duck fans!!!!!

the game was a win for the beavs/others in that we don't have to listen to "the game" and all you duck honks use the phrase national championship at all. while it was going to be a stretch to get there, all that hope is lost now.

Well in all fairness, the way the Ducks tore apart SC, SOME talk of a national championship WAS fair. The same would've been true if the Beavs were in the same position. But alas, its not meant to be this year...and now 95.5 and all the Duck honks will have to "settle" to using the phrase Rose Bowl. :)

The Ducks had no shot at the national championship because the BCS is screwy. I'm not an Oregon fan but they were doomed even after they beat SC because the systems are so unbelievably screwed up at this point. USC was dropping BCS points before the Oregon game despite winning.

Oregon still is in the driver's seat for the Rose Bowl. A very comfortable seat at that.

If UO had a down year and only won 2 games- OSU & UW, then I'd be content.
