If that's the case, then shouldn't Nate play Blake with Bayless on the second unit and start Rudy in the three-guard lineup instead of Blake? Bayless as PG isn't going to get the ball to Rudy or Martell when they are open anyway.

I said the exact same thing at the game. It's a real mystery. :dunno:

Some people just can't develop parts of their games. I don't hold this against Miller.

Sorta like how Steve Blake can't run a fast break as an NBA PG. I mean how does this happen?

That is completely different, at least in my opinion.

I agree it will be difficult to maintain the 3-guard set long-term. What's strange is whilst Blake was somewhat demoted, his minutes went sky high.

Still, it's amazing how everyone keeps ripping Blake. With Miller and Roy complaining, nobody is crying much about them. Blake is doing whatever is asked without complaint. If you don't like the lineups, pin that on the coaching staff.

I have no problem with Blake coming off of the bench IF:
-Roy and Miller can co-exist. The only really good assist to Roy in this game was the alley oop from Blake - funny how nobody seems to remember that one; just the one from Rudy to LMA. Roy still seems uncomfortable w/o the ball.

-Webster (or Rudy) can hit the perimeter shots. Right now, Webs is at .353 and Rudy is an appalling .261. My vote is for Webster.

-The assists go up significantly. The overall assist numbers are still low. Miller would have to get a high-assist amount, like he used to.

I have little concern with Blake playing on the 2nd unit. In fact, while at Denver, he was able to play successfully with AI in the backcourt. Re-read the previous sentence. However, one small concern is neither Rudy nor Blake are interested much in the paint - they're mainly perimeter shooters. Who will attack the paint besides Outlaw?

For a point guard? You're right. Being able to run the break or penetrate a defense to set up your teammates is a much more imporant skill than being able to hit a jumper.

Blake is the ultimate team player. He's just not that good (as a starter).

For what I'm talking about, how important it is has nothing to do with it.
