It really seems like the NBA is going away from big-men. D-Howard was just given a $15K fine for complaining about the refs as well.
Oden/Przy get 11 fouls in 41 minutes. Mark Gasol gets 4 fouls in 38 minutes. Either Joel has regressed and Oden is a clod, or something is really wrong with how the Blazer centers are being officiated.
2 of Oden's fouls were dumb fouls that he deserved - the first two. But, you are right, Portland does seem to get the short end of the stick here. Maybe some of Joel's problems are that he tries to play hard knowing that he does not need to be worried about the fouls.
Gasol was Memphis' best player on the floor. I'm not sure how Oden was the difference, no matter how I want him to be the difference.
You weren't watching the second half if you're not sure how Oden was the difference. It was more than obvious.
I was watching the second half. Why is the default "you weren't watching xxx" when someone makes a comment that you don't agree with?
I was thinking the same thing about you. I watched the second half. I was accused of not watching it.
Even MB and Rice made comments about it. Every time Greg was in the game in the 2nd half, the Blazers pulled away. Conversely, it was when he wasn't in that the Griz made their little runs.
Perhaps he needs to be in the game more often. Oden played a great game except for the foul trouble. How that makes me "insufferable" puzzles me.
So you couldn't see that he was having an impact out there, especially in the 4th, where he went 7 minutes without a foul, and made Zach Randolph look like a pommel horse? Or is your definition of impact different than most everyone else's?
Impact isn't the difference in the game. He played well. This thread was meant to defend him, but I understand posters like you get their jollies attacking me.
Thanks for your opinion, and thanks for the personal attack. If I am "insufferable", then ignore me. I'm not sure you know what that word means, though.
