Maybe it's just me but I'm not exactly seeing the part where he's going after Quick? There has been a lot of talk (mostly in sports radio) about this topic, I don't think I've ever once heard Quick say that Roy's being selfish or that his ego is getting in the way.
Nice column. I think this guy is going to be good. Regarding Quick, I think it was mostly people misinterpretting what he was saying in his interview on 95.5 when he talked about Brandon's comments on players like Kobe & Lebron.
That is true. A lot of the bullshit I have heard recently with some certain radio announcers calling Roy selfish was more than what Quick did, but in all truth, both quick and the radio announcers came across as total dipshits. The guys on the game can go frack themselves. They are nothing but a bunch of junk talking vagina's hiding behind a microphone.
Royisclutch completely misquoted Quick from that interview, so the point still stands. Quick has never said Brandon has an ego problem, thus Hendrickson is addressing his comments towards another "media" source.
Did you read that entire thread? I was the one who found the link and provided the more accurate view of what was said. Royisclutch didn't misquote, he under quoted. What Royisclutch posted was the last statement Quick said but Quick did say it. It was the other things that Quick said before that is what needed to get posted in here also. Which I did.
I listened to the Quick interview and the only thing that really jumped out at me is him saying how unhappy Roy is/was ... granted he did infer that Brandon sees himself as being on the same plane as Lebron and Kobe (in terms of role on their respective teams) but I thought he took great care in trying to explain that "this isn't Brandon being big-headed." The worst you can accuse Quick of doing is spending so much time watching Brandon's body language and trying to make definitive statements about how he feels. Don't get me wrong, I think Quick is a colossal tool, I just don't happen to agree that there's any sort of beef between he and Hendrickson, or that Hendrickson is going after him in this particular article.
I don't think Brian T. Smith was going after Quick but I think Quick's recent comments had a direct influence on his column. I think Smith is providing us with a much more accurate view of the situation while Quick was providing us a sensationalized view of it. I just posted it as Smith calling out Quick to add some pizazz.
So you were basically providing us with a more sensationalized view of Smith's article, as opposed to accuracy?
