Forgive me if there's a thread on this already, but I downloaded that Firefox add-on that essentially erases from all existence anything started by certain posters, so if it was started by one of them, I can't see it.

Who wins in the Warriors/Bobcats trade?
Warriors get Radmanovic (Larry soured on HIM fast) and Raja Bell
Bobcats get Jackson and Acie Law (already a journeyman, and so young...)

Jackson's got to be PISSED! But Larry probably asked Pop about him and heard good things...

I wonder if we can get Raja Bell. I know he'd have to patch things up with LaMarcus, but I love Bell's defense, and we could probably use him at backup PF for a while and watch him clothesline everybody. I could watch this all day:

Bell is really more of a 2/3. If we went after him, he'd be our starting SF. Tough defense, hits threes (a career .410 from three!). That's all we need in a SF right now. It'd basically be like having a taller version of Steve Blake who could also defend worth a damn. Sign me up.

But he's also 33 years old and a career PER of 11.4. *sigh* It's depressing to think Webster isn't a better option.

Damn. GS got pretty decent value. Bell is an expiring contract, and Vlad Rad has a deal that gives him $13 mil for the next two years.

In contrast, Jax still had $35 mil, through 2013.

I think the winners are Boston and Orlando. The Cavs were rumored to be after him, and I think that would have pushed them over the other two late in the season.

You could actually trade Outlaw + Mills straight over for Bell. Although then we'd have nobody to play backup 4 except Howard, which sucks.

Webster + Mills makes more sense for Charlotte. Two younger guys to move along with the rebuilding process. But Bell expires this year and could just walk. And we'd be giving away a lot of upside in Martell.

I know - that's what I said in the first post. But GS can turn around and immediately trade Bell. And I'm not sure he's any happier to be in GS than Jackson is to be in Charlotte. (Oh - I see - you were responding to mook, who said Charlotte)

    Yep. My mistake.

Anyway, Raja Bell just makes so much sense to this team (and practically none to Golden State). You plug him in and bide your time until Batum can come back. Then when he returns you've got a really heated competition for that starting job, and a really high quality backup.

The only real winner here is Jackson himself.

He will never live up to his long-term deal....but don't be surprised if he goes on a tear for the rest of this season.

Warriors aren't going to trade a 5 mil expiring contract for nothing. BTW guys Bell has a fairly bad injury that hes been playing through- I believe its a torn ligament in his wrist. There's a possibility he could just opt for surgery now, especially if GS is indicating that have zero interest in his future services and just want his deal to expire and let him walk. Doesn't make much sense for him to willingly put himself on the line for a team who's absolutely not taking him back next season.

I would bet that his numbers nosedive. The pace difference between GS and Charlotte is severe and he won't get the green light that he had as a Warrior, either.

Yep just based on the ways the teams run I would cut his numbers in half across the board, and then add back in a little because his effort might be better in a new scene.

Interesting deal.... I wonder why Charlotte wants him? Is he going to play some point-forward?

I would figure shooting guard. Unless they go small. See if they have Chandler out on the floor, they have to make up for it scoring wise, and Jackson suits that bill. If you look at that team, they are definitly scoring challenged.

I read some quotes from Larry Brown saying their offense really needs some help, that they can't hit a shot. Jackson gives them another ballhandler/playmaker and is certainly leaps and bounds better then Bell on offense in every way. If he can reasonably keep up with opposing 2 guards I could see this really working out for them. They lack a low post threat but with one of their PGs, Jackson, and Boris they should have great ball movement and be able to hit cutters.

I see the Bobs as the winner and the W's cashing in their chips on another sour season.

:dunno: His scoring may drop, but if he gets back to passing and playing defense - things he has done well in the past but had largely stopped doing for Nellie - his net value can still increase.

Correct. Jackson is a useful player when the coach holds him accountable and demands his respect - where Nellie, at this point, does not hold the respect of just about anyone.

I can't believe it - but after seeing what he has done to GSW - I actually like Mark Cuban's stand in the entire Nellie vs. Cuban ordeal.
