Quick said that, if anyone replaces Blake in the starting lineup, it will be Rudy.

You know what, I actually agree with MIXUM on something

This team needs a god damn fucking SF. I'm tired of this small lineup crap and Roy playing out of position. It's stupid.

Looks like Batum is missed more than we could imagine.

Agree, if he sinks, so be it, relegated to the bench he goes. If he swims, Roy won't have to be abused night in and night out.

If that's the case, KP may as well start shopping for a real SF option, if Webster isn't the answer. Roy is not capable of guarding opposing SFs on a nightly basis. It neutralizes his dominant offensive game.

Nate is in a tough spot now with the starting lineup. What are his options? This team does not have a legit starting quality SF. We have a 3rd string quality player in Martel Webster, a 2nd round rookie tweener in Dante Cunningham.

Ideally, we'd still have Batum, but this 3 guard lineup is probably the best we can do now, aside from replacing Blake with Rudy.

Yeah, I do not like Brandon playing SF. But Martell isn't exactly instilling confidence that he should earn the SF spot... I want Webster to succeed, but he is really stinking it up with his wide-open looks.

Jason Quick needs to stick to reporting and let the analyzing be done by those who understand the basics.

How can anyone who's around a team so much understand so little about basketball?

The Answer: He's always aware of who he's trying to suck up to next.

Just.....go away Jason. You make a fool of yourself every time you give your opinion about the Blazers.

He bothered me so much that I decided I had to find a fan forum to complain about him. When I saw this one and so many people were saying the same thing, I knew I'd found the right place.

I wish Jim Beseda was still covering the Blazers instead of Jason. Still don't know how Jason wriggled that away from him four or five years ago. For about 3 years they shared the beat (1999-2002), and then Jason was given it full time when they had to cut staff and spread reporters out. Jason's younger and maybe that's why. Only the Oregonian employees know, I guess. Jim's a better writer, too.

Also, ditto that George Pasero was the best sports writer to ever grace the pages of an Oregon newspaper. I like his son Jim, here (who keeps trying to downplay his knowledge of the Blazers by saying he's a fan so that he doesn't hurt Quick's feelings). But, Jim Pasero knows what he's talking about. He's forgotten more about sports than Quick has in his repertoire. And, Jaynes is almost always right. The guy on the left, who is that, Suke? He knows his College Football inside and out and I'd go to him first if I was wanting to know anything about that, but after that, he's just another guy at a bar with misinformed opinions about most of the other sports.

Sorry about the length. I'll keep it shorter from now on. (and find an avater another day).

    P. S. I've had season tickets for the last 10 years, and I've only gone to 1 game so far this year because I'm not going until Nate gets the stick out of his butt (can you say that here?), and stops being so anal, and let's Andre Miller do what he does best....start at PG, put Roy at SG, Martell at SF, and Blake on the bench.

If they could get Canzano on the show they could change the name to "Talking Bald".

Were 9-4, went 4-1 on our first road trip of the season, and nearly won in overtime against the current best team in the league in their place. Yet, Quick and Jaynes are talking endless shit about the way Miller is running the team in his first 13 games as a Blazers.

Those guys are second rate journalists and small market hacks. Sometimes I'm seriously not sure if Quick knows the game of basketball very well.

Let's not forget that it was Quick who had a huge mancrush on Damon Stoudamire. That alone is damning imo.

Webster has always been worse off the bench than as a starter... there were a few horrible games a couple seasons ago when we tried starting Outlaw and benching Webby, and both of them simultaneously sucked. It's kind of like how Batum started at first only because Outlaw bites as a starter (funny how Roy knew his best friend's limitation then and didn't hesitate to endorse Batum... so much for Roy coddling "his guys").

I'd let Webster or Rudy start a couple of games in place of Blake. If it's Webster, Roy can be an SG again. If it's Rudy, then Roy's still the starting SF, but you have a more potent offensive threat than Blake at his side, and there won't be confusion in plays where Andre's acting out the SG part and getting stuck with jumpshots Roy or Rudy should take with time winding down.
