greg and la should each have a double double at worst...if we cant beat this team with our size alone... we are a joke.... Bell played 23 minutes, but that was his last action for a while. He decided to have surgery on the wrist Thursday and could be lost for the season, likely joining Kelenna Azubuike(notes), who is slated for surgery to repair a torn patella tendon. Golden State is in trouble up front as well, with Ronny Turiaf(notes), Brandan Wright(notes) and Andris Biedrins(notes) out. The backcourt injuries, though, should spell more time for rookie Stephen Curry(notes), who averaged 13.7 points on 55.2 percent shooting in the last three games. The short-handed Warriors would seem to be in trouble against Portland (9-4), winner of seven of eight, but they have dominated the Trail Blazers of late in Oakland. Golden State won the last eight home meetings by an average of 12.0 points. While Portland has been hot lately - its only loss since Nov. 3 came in overtime at Atlanta - it hasn’t exactly been beating up on tough competition. The Hawks are the only team with a winning record the Blazers faced in the last eight games.
Wait, a double-double is at worst? are you then saying an average baseline should be a triple-double? or we should probably look for a quadruple-double?
you got the link you grabbed that from, or did you tell us to see your footnotes, and then forget to write them?
they dont have a legit center playing.... they have an undersized pf.... we have two 7 foot centers and a 6/10 power forward trying to make the all star team. not really much else to say
You know Greg and Aldridge should abuse every team. But after a good half or quarter here or there, for some reason the team just stops going to them. Then after that, folks wonder why none of our bigs are ever considered for all star voting. Its probably because the other bigs they are competing against are kept in the game and allowed to run up the score, even when their team is up.
I think our chance is to show up for the game. It's not a sure-fire solution, but it gives us a chance. Ed O.
Has that ever stopped them from kicking the Blazers' asses in Oracle before? I think we should beat them, but I would say it's far from a done deal. Nellie ball has a helluva way of making Nate and the team look pretty foolish. This game is all about imposing tempo. They should be dumping the ball inside almost every trip down the floor or Miller and Roy should at least be driving to the cup. If they start heaving 25 footers at the end of the clock or if they start making lazy passes around the horn, they're going to get run out of the gym -- hopefully they don't succumb to the lure of the long jumper.
I don't get your analysis sometimes. How do you think Boston would perform against GS . . . because not one big man got a double double . . . in fact the only celtic to get a double double against GS was the PG. Game before . . . only Lebron James got a double double against GS. In fact the only big man to get a double double in GS last five games is Bogut (unless you consider Granger a PF)
are we already making excuses in case greg plays like shit? the first overall selection should dominate games like this. sorry but theres no excuse for anything less then a double double. same for la. when you have 2 quality guys upfront playing an undersized shitty team... theres no excuse
Ah I can already see the multiple threads forming in your mind. I think you're pretty funny Mixum, but the way you prep yourself to be disappointed and anticipate disaster must be pretty exhausting. Then again you are a Bills fan, so it must come to you as some kind of birthright.
Yes and No. Big guys in a patient offense should score a lot. But Golden State shoots lots of 3 pointers, so the rebounds come off long, which means rebounds for perimeter players going into running situations. A big like Lamarcus who runs the floor should thrive. Maybe not Oden so much.
It's hard for big men to have good games against Golden State especially when Maggette is in the paint flopping to get mind boggling charges because he's a gigantic pussy.
*shudder* I remember that game against LaMarcus last year where he completely flopped his way to three charges and completely took LMA out of the game. Fuck that was painful.
