I ask this because I see what Jennings did, but then I wonder.... do you we have young players on our roster who would be doing stuff like that if they were on a different team with a different system and a greater role? For all we know, on the Bucks, Bayless would be lighting up. Or on the Nets, Rudy could be having an All Star season. What do you think?

55 points in 3 minutes would be quite a feat.

Did you read my post? My question is whether or not Bayless could score that much if given a different role on a different team in a different system.

    Yes.

If Brandon Roy died in a car wreck and Steve Blake was ordered to pass the ball to Bayless instead.

Probably not unless he got extremely hot from outside...Jennings went 7-8 from three that game and took a total of 34 shots if I'm right. We'll never know because his season high in minutes will be 20. I feel bad for Bayless. We're completely fucking him out of a solid contract by playing STEVE BLAKE ahead of him. Blake is better for us right now but I don't see the point in sitting him all the time if he's going to play any sort of role on our team when we're actually competing for a championship. This year a ring is absolutely impossible so why not play the guy?

No, I just went for the cheap joke based on the title of the thread. If you need me to read posts you'll have to pay me extra.

The Bucks are 7-3 because of Brandon Jennings. If Bayless is that good and he's on our bench behind Steve Blake, Nate needs to go.

Well that begs the question.... if we drafted Jennings this season, would he even be playing?

Not if we brought in his Italian coach apparently. What the hell is up with that anyways? He barely played in Italy and now he's torching the NBA as a rook...hmmm

You are exactly right: 34 field goal attempts and 7-8 from threes. I think there are a LOT of players that could score 55 points if they had both of those things happen (after all, they'd "just" need to get 34 points on those 26 FGAs). Big "ifs", of course :)

Whether Bayless or anyone else on the Blazers could do it... I dunno. Bayless is a good prospect, but Jennings was the #1 prep player in his class, which is a great indicator of success (McRoberts notwithstanding). Bayless wasn't quite at that level as a prepster.

I know I've said this a lot, but it's been a while. We may have soured on Miles eventually any way, but he did what he was asked to do, and was becoming a very good player for us. Exciting, and showing effort on both ends. Then the first knee injury happened and his production went way down for a few games. People jumped off the bandwagon, quick. Then he sat out with the injured knee and no one within the organization said anything about how severe it was. People were calling him lazy left and right for not coming back.

Of course, it turned out that he needed microfracture surgery and it was actually "career ending." I really don't understand how, (ok, I understand how, just not why) people turned against him as vehemently as they did. He had his tirade against Cheeks. Other than that he seemed like a decent enough guy. Didn't he and his wife help someone out or something?

I am one of the few that think that had Miles not gotten injured, he would have continued to improve, be an exciting player, and had finally figured things out. I guess we'll never know.

    1. Yes, Bayless could score that much in the "right" system.
    2. This means essentially nothing. Damon scored 50. Michael Adams scored 50. Cliffy scored 50 on the downslope of his career with the Suns. Von Wafer could easily score 50 for some team.
    3. Bayless is no Jennings. Jennings is much quicker and actually has PG skills. I doubt VERY much that a team which put the ball in Bayless's hands the way Skiles has in Jennings's would have a winning record.
