Should be interesting to see how the team plays without Nellie on the sidelines.

If they get wins that'll be another nail in the coffin for Nellie.

I'm not sure Cohan is comfortable eating the remaining money due to Nelson on the contract he signed. I don't think either side would be open to a buyout either. For the sake of team hopefully that isn't the case and they do win without Nellie.

I like him though, he's a great coach, it just seems it's time for him to retire.

    Maybe it's just me.

I don't think a few games without Nelson will matter much one way or the other. With Nelson the problem is more his long-term handling and development of players, particularly young players. I will be keeping an eye on minute allotments, but I don't think Smart will change much while he's on a fill-in basis.

I'm not sure if it's going to be only temporary because having pneumonia at his age can get bad in a hurry.

I doubt this is going to matter one way or another.

True. From a human perspective, I wish nothing but a speedy recovery for Nellie.

From the human side, I wish him a speedy recovery and do not wish him any ill-will.

From the fan side, he needs to go and fast. That game against the Blazers was fun because he was forced to play Curry and Ellis and Randolph. I know if he had his druthers he'd never have done that. It would have been Maggette, Sjax, Watson, Turiaf and Hunter at the end and it would have been ugly.
