It's really nice to read this over all the negativity we've been reading about that debacle.

I genuinely hope that the team hears the complaints in the context of "some yahoos on the internet think they know everything"; because the last thing we want is for them to start paying attention to us. Governing interactions by a tyranny of the loudest isn't going to lead to good decisions. That is to say, I hope they completely ignore us...

...except if they can fix the Comcast thing. :ghoti:

The beauty of the internet is that it provides a forum for any idiot to be heard. The sad part of the internet is that it provides a forum for any idiot to be heard.

personally I'm happy that Brandon seems to have heard the idiots this time as it seems to have been their broken clock moment. Portland's attack and overall effectiveness will be better if Brandon works on his off the ball skills. Thats not to say they should abandon the iso play he has done so well with, but that should be saved for Go! situations at the end of the clock or when they're trying to run out the clock on a game. Playing off the ball with a penetrating distributer like Miller reduces Roy's role to more of a spot up shooter (which he is excellent at), but it also involves the rest of Portland's many offensive weapons to a greater degree. Roy isn't Jordan but Greg isn't Luc Longley either.

For the most part I agree with what you are saying. Roy needs someone like Miller through much of the game. And the teams needs someone like Miller. They played great together last night. I agree Roy is not a point guard, and needs someone who can run the offense for 35 minutes a game.

But it was idiotic for many to suggest that Roy was being selfish. The reason for the change was because Nate felt it was better for the team. And I agree with him. I have said all along Miller needs to be in with the first and second team. This lineup allows for it.

But I do prefer Rudy, Roy, and Miller when we go to the 3-guard line-up. But you have to give Blake some credit too. He plays very good "team defense". Maybe not one-on-one D, but he is smart and is seldom out of place.

I am pretty sure some of the Blazers go out and surf the web pretty actively. Last night on NBATV Lamarcus was on before the game and he mentioned fans getting on him for rebounding. He said "Watch the film. I get switched out on the perimeter with our defensive scheme and I am not near the rim to rebound a lot of times. Watch the film." You could tell he was somewhat pissed but taking it ok.

Also I agree with Roy, above. You will note Roy is back to his old position, and all the sudden everybody in the lineup is producing at what we were used to, or better, last year. That is because everybody is in their comfort zone getting shots where they are used to getting shots.

LaMarcus has a point. Hell, I'm not sure what people are bitching about anyway? He's averaging 8.8 rebounds per36 and a 14.5% rebound rate which are the best marks of his career, his biggest trouble this year has been foul trouble which has limited his minutes to about 31 mpg.

Yeah, those numbers surprised me too ... of course it's an awfully small sample size and we need to see more (especially against good defenses) but they sure seemed to play with each other just fine last night.

The funny thing (and Dave from Blazersedge noticed it too in his recap) is that Miller-Bayless-Roy and Miller-Fernandez-Roy were much more effective than the old Miller-Blake-Roy three gaurd lineup. It almost makes you think Nate set it up to fail. You play Miller for the drive, you play Blake for the shot and you double Brandon. With Bayless or Fernandez thrown into the mix between those two guys they're just a much less predictable and more dynamic bunch.

honestly the Dre thing is just another straw against him. What tipped the scales to me was charging kids 50$ an autograph.:tsktsk::tsktsk:

This is exactly right. Who was the one complaining about getting shut down and not having another guy to help out in the play offs? ROY! And when he gets that help what does he do, "I don't know what my role is anymore." :NOTMARIS:

Could be Roy was just talking about that article not stuff he read off of boards.

To me it makes no sense for it to be the only way Miller could start is if Blake started too. It was like it was a failure because of Miller, but we never tried Miller starting instead of Blake.

Very small. But it's the exact sample size that seems to be enough to condemn a player, or a coach. ;)

Maybe I should over-react to a good game to show the negative Nancy's how silly it looks on the other side. But they're all probably too busy over-analyzing some quote, searching for any hint of the coming apocalypse to even notice.

    Amen.

Give Miller and Roy a more dynamic backcourt mate and maybe, just maybe it works out.

It just pisses me off because I am just so happy Roy is even here. If any of the frackers on this board want to go back to the days when Martell Webster and Juan Dixon were our SG, more power to you. Go follow the Clippers or something though so I don't have to watch it here.

AMEN! I am really happy we have Roy. And I am really excited that the big three looked so good last night. It was giving me glimpses of what to expect down the road.
