I have a different take. It doesn't bother me that Canzano wrote the story. I wonder why he waited till now? Canzano and Quick have had a love affair with Brandon the past few years. Why did Canzano become irked enough with Roy to write this story? Was it because Roy's acting more the prima donna now that he's getting the big paycheck? His refusal to adapt his game to help the team get better? Maybe the pitiful display in Oakland where Roy didn't attempt to play defense and then Nate folding and putting the ball back in Roy's hands? Some of the very selfish sounding comments he's been making over his need to have the ball? His taking the summer off and not working on his game? A warning shot to Roy about something else we don't want to read in print?

I have no idea why the story was written but I doubt it was to just to stir up trouble. There is something that has changed Canzanos opinion of Roy. He has always been a Roy supporter. I guess I'll have to wait to see how this season unfolds. It's not going as I planned it. I thought we'd be nearly undefeated at this point of the season. We ruined a great opportunity to get out ahead of the pack.

Sounds like you...err, sorry. Sounds like Canzano has lots of reasons to be mad at Roy. Sounds like your take is simply that you don't like what you've seen from Roy, and thus agree with Canzano "getting back at" Roy. After all, from your angle it sounds like Roy deserves everything he gets from Canzano. It's a good thing he's there to show Roy just how disappointed you are in him.

Canzano doesn't need a reason, seriously.

The guy nearly had a triple double last night and you don't think he cares enough?

Judging from the box score, he didn't get much help from the bench or good old Steve Blake who went o-for.

Roy doesn't seem to be the issue.

I might have agreed with that, if not for the post-game interviews.

Nate came out and stated the obvious truth: the team played with no energy. Roy then comes out, and contradicts Nate. He claims (amazingly) that the team had plenty of energy. He then goes into the "we don't know our roles" BS. It's like Roy is going out of his way to tell everybody that he and Nate aren't getting along.

I have been a little disenchanted with Roy . . . but I can't seem to put my finger on exactly why.

He seems a half step slow and a little less energy this year. But then again Roy has never played at a fast pace before. Has the league figured Roy out, is Roy missing that half step or are things the same as last year?

I haven't bothered to study the stats, so just my general feeling from watching the games is Roy isn't the same player from last year and he doesn't seem very happy or motivated these days.

There's no doubt I'm disappointed with Roy this year. I don't like how he gets a free ride from the responsibilities of being the man. If you are going to put yourself in the same breath as Kobe and LeBron, then take the responsibilities and blame that go with it. If you don't work to get better during the off season, how are you going to get better? By dogging it on defense? By taking volume shots to get your points?

I had visions of Andre helping us get a much more exciiting offense going but Roy doesn't want to share the ball with Andre, Oden or Rudy. I think there is a big problem in the locker room with this team that hasn't come out yet. I can see it in their play and in their looks at one another. Time will tell if they can get on the same page. If not, we're in for a disappointing season.

What like Kobe, Lebron, and Wade never lose games? Because that is what your acting like. They also lose games that they shouldn't, like the Blazers did last night. Hell Wade loses a lot more games than Roy has easily. So as you were saying?

Does everyone realize Roy barely missed a triple double? I think our fans have become spoiled and expectations are way to high for this young of a team. Give them time to go through some of the growning pains. Teams have to experience going through adversity before they become an elite team.

Oden is really starting to develop and that means he needs more touches and those touches are coming from our other 2 stars who will need to learn how to play off a good big man. I'm already starting to see Roy spot up for Oden and Oden's doing a good job finding Roy for open shots. Just be patient and give them TIME!

My only concern is Nate's substitution pattern sucks ass! He needs to get a feel for the game and not base his substitution patterns on the 6 minute mark of the game clock.

There is nothing wrong with Roy but he doesn't fit with the team the Blazers have around him!

Roy is a slow half court minded player. Perfect for the Jazz, Spurs or Celtics not a run and gun team like ours that is being neutered by his mentality and Nate's lack of abililty to see past predictable half court sets. Your star has to have tempo with his team. Roy does not!!!

If we traded Roy and Webster right now for Wade we'd be in the western conference finals this year! Wade would excell with a PG like Andre, a dominant center like Oden, and a gifted PF in LA. Further our team would be playing into it's strengths rather than adjusted away from them.

Roy is a 33 speed record in a digital world. He's an allstar for a different team!

I never expected Roy to be on Kome's level. But I do expect Oden to handle your boy Bynum in the not too distant future. :)

Brandon brought it last night FLAT OUT! He didn't get the help he normally gets for us to get the W! Roy is NOT the problem. Man, what little credibility some of you have is quickly fading away!

16 games in, slight bit of bumps, and some have bailed on Roy. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. 3 years in to a great beginning of a career. fuck. I don't remember Zach getting heat like this early on into his contract.

Very astute point. Give a talented player like Roy the ball a lot and he'll average 20 or so... But now that the team is growing up around him, he can take a more subdued role. He's still talented, but nit quite as good as his press clippings suggest.

Well, once again (like he did in two playoff games) he personally ended late comebacks by going 1-on-4, refusing to pass to wide open wing shooters and easily getting the ball taken away. It's now become apparent that he is uncapable of not losing a game late. I thought he would have learned after personally losing those 2 playoff games in the same manner. But it appears not.

So being a two time NBA allstar was just a trick to get a max contract?

I hope every Blazer tricks us like this.

I'm with HCP on this one. Roy comes a couple of rebounds and assist away from a triple double and fans are jumping off the BRoy bandwagon.

The game tonight can be summarized in one play in the 4th quarter when LA tried to pass the ball to Roy but Roy was lazy getting the pass and it got stolen and the Jazz did some nice passing to get a lay-up. Seems more and more each game Roy refuses to play defense and on the offensive end it's all about him and his one-on-one isolation plays. I don't understand why Roy wont be more of a team player and move without the ball? The reason Blake plays alot is because Roy wants Blake to play alot because he's the perfect player for Roy in the backcourt so Roy can have the balls in his hands. Andre Miller will get shipped out of here before the trade deadline.

I didn't get to watch the game, but it sure seems like you are riding Roy's jock awfully hard. Lemme guess, Rudy should start over him?
