I just took a quick stab at a DRTg calculation for the Raps after giving up 146 points tonight. I first estimated the pace of tonight's game at 97.1 and then used that combined with the stats from their previous 19 games and came up with a DRTg of 118.2 for the season so far. This is the first time I've attempted this kind of calculation. So, I'm not sure if I did everything right. Guess we'll see how close I am tomorrow after basketball-reference.com updates their 2009-10 team stats. BNM
Officially, DRtg = 118.3. I was close. The Raps DRtg has been last in the league for quite some time, but the actual value and margin between them and the 29th place team (Memphis) continues to grow. On the other end, their ORtg has been falling. For most of November, they held the distinction of simultaneously having the league's highest rated offense and lowest rated defense. They have now fallen to 4th in the league in ORtg at 112.2, which gives them a point differential per 100 possessions of -6.1. BNM
