wow how classless. basically its greg is made of glass coming off the bench and wheres greg oden... hes hurt and brittle. totally uncalled for. collin then went on to say that we got good news and we now know.... cant build around oden. he then says build around roy, rudy, la, and.... miller (dont tell collin but miller is 30 + in age.) anyway... he thinks oden is done. i agree with the we know we cant build around him.
Colin has really been focusing on improving his LA market ratings. When he first started the show he'd give some positive attention to Pacific NW sports teams but he tanked in LA. Then he started singing the praises of Kobe, Lakers, USC, etc... Ratings improved but not great. Now he thinks a "cute" little Oden song is just the thing to make him really popular down there. I used to like him but now he's become so annoying and full of himself. Spends half his show giving lame examples of why he thinks he's smarter than everyone else.
Colin has been down on Oden since his first Summer League ... I wouldn't expect his most recent injury to change anything.
Actually, Colin has never been "down" on Oden in terms of basketball ability. He's held the belief that Oden will be a 16ppg/12rpg player, and that he isn't somebody that can carry a team's offense on his back. I happen to agree with that assessment. The "Oden Song", however, is a lowblow, and has been since he started playing it earier this year.
Do you agree with Colin that Blazer fans woke up happy today because there is no more Oden vs Roy "debate" as to who is most important to the team? Colin still makes the argument that Oden won't be a great player based on the first 5min he saw him play in the NBA. I find that to be a joke.
I find the concept of "building around" Oden to be vague Since we can't "build around" him, does that mean he can't be our center, and we can't surround him with other players?
An equally tasteful and apropriate number.
