Roy and Aldridge both better start putting up huge numbers because this is what they have wanted all year. The one slight problem is that other teams can easily stop our offense, so good luck guys.
In my opinion, not enough talent even if healthy. This team has needed one additional go-to scorer in the starting 5 for quite a while. This team is rife with inconsistent scorers like Martell, Rudy, Blake and Bayless. If we want to make the playoffs, the current lineup isn't looking like it will cut it.
Mostly because they aren't healthy. But even then it's an awfully finesse oriented team that doesn't seem to have much finesse -- that is to say, if you are going to play a lot of isolation basketball you probably need better one-on-one scorers and ball-handlers than guys like Rudy, Blake, Martell, etc. who all struggle with driving into the lane or handling the ball in traffic. There are offensive minded guys on this team, but they just seem to be a weird fit for the type of ball this team tends to play (even when Roy has his drive and kick game going). Or maybe I'm just misdiagnosing the problem? Perhaps if Blake, Martell, and Rudy were hitting consistently from three point range, Roy would have more space to operate and defenses wouldn't be able to double and triple team him all night long.
Perhaps Blake will grow another foot and he can play backup center. Both scenarios are just about as likely.
With Oden out, and a championship unlikely this year (with the playoffs seeming iffy), what's the point of keeping Miller around? May as well trade him, give his minutes to Bayless, and figure out what to do about the starting PG position next summer.
Bingo. Miller was here to "put us over the edge" with the "big 3". Since that will not happen for at least 3 seasons, he will be too old for our core, therefore, essentially useless without any major roster moves.
WTF? I said don't sacrifice the long-term for the short term and all of the sudden I'm against trading Miller? Get some more coffee.
Where did I post you were against trading Miller? I posed a question to you, but I certainly didn't assume any stance you may have taken or are taking. Perhaps you need some more coffee.
So in this thread, you are all for trading Miller, and starting Bayless, because the playoffs seem iffy, but then in another thread... you seem upset about others advocating the season is lost.
I never said that Bayless should start. Stop lying about what I posted. Miller has no value in terms of a championship this year, and Bayless has shown he can handle back-up minutes at PG. I said address the PG situation next summer. Try to stay consistent in your mocking of me. I know it matters to you, since it's your m.o. regarding my posts. but you look petty, and you're wrong.
You asked me to defend keeping Miller around, when all I said was we shouldn't make a trade to benefit us this year that would hurt us in the future. KS then put me in the "don't trade Miller camp" and you hopped on. Again, WTF? Go ahead and trade Miller. I'd be fine with it.
Sorry, I misread the part about starting. You said give Bayless Miller's minutes, so you want him in for 27 minutes a night. You say that because Miller won't help towards a title, and the playoffs seem iffy, but then complain about others looking at the season as a lost cause. My m.o.? Consistent mocking of you? Your incessant whining and playing the victim where everyone is out to get you in every thread has gotten extremely old. I'm through with your shit. It's a waste of my time and others to read. Welcome to my ignore. Population 1.
What did I instigate? Asking questions is "instigating"? Fine. Fire Nate Roy is selfish The training staff is clueless BLANKY deserves six negative threads about him on the front page Disagreeing with the above = "instigating". What a bunch of bullshit.
