This is hilarious. Perhaps the best part is the graph using basketballs, including a dusky one and a pasty one. I'm waiting for Rush Limbaugh to attack Wayne Embry though - it's only a matter of time.

There should have been Blake footage played in this video clip when they discussed most white players being too slow to defend in the NBA.

Other things to note: a shout out to board fave Kirk Hinrich, and footage of a very young Rudy.

Since I, like him, was born in Kenya, I find it quite amenable.

That was one of the silliest pieces I've seen in a while. The best players play, I don't care what color they are. Are you telling me there's reverse discrimination in the NBA? David Stern would KILL for a John Stockton, Jerry West, Larry Bird, Bob Pettit or Bill Walton in the league today.

It's funny to me that they talk a lot about poor defending, and they illustrated how many euros are coming over. In general, they typically are more fundamentally sound and better shooters, but you wonder if that guard out of Notre Dame had been from Lithuania if he would have been drafted.

Well I guess the Blazers are very diverse then, we got two white americans. Last year we had like 4, Shavlik and Raef too.

I'm sure there's a job waiting for him in Lithuania if he wants it!

I actually thought it was going to be a spoof because of how he starts out talking about: toughness, commitment and hard work...it's the classic stuff they always say about whoever the latest great white hope is in college basketball.

I also think there is a serious double standard in that they don't bring up the character questions which would have been featured prominently if he was black. He was arrested on drug charges and expelled from school...they conveniently don't even mention that as a possible reason for his troubles. He also WAS invited to the Clippers summer league and didn't stick...

    So stupid...

Yea but you never know with the Clippers. It could have been because he wasn't talented enough. It could also have been because it was the Clippers making the decision. They are the Clippers. What else can I say?:sherlock:

How many international sub-six foot shoot-first PGs have ever made it in the NBA? I don't think that there's a bias against that kid because he's an American.

Is there a bias because he's white? I would imagine there is a slight one, but if he is good enough he can overcome it.

Finally: I wonder how many mixed-race players are considered "white" even if they have one black parent and one white one.

Huh? Why do you wonder that? (Seriously, you lost me.)

Does remind me of something though:

He has dwarf legs, can't defend, can't get to the hoop, and publicly blames his lack of ability on other people's bias.

This guy has clearly established that he would be a nightmare for management/coaches to deal with.

Yeah....or the more likely scenario, ESPN saw a great college bball player trying to make it in the DLeague and summer rosters and he is the best white player at the moment to illustrate their point.

I guess Jerry West is a nightmare too then? :dunno:

Let me get this straight. Black players are more athletic than white players? Quicker, faster, stronger, and can jump higher? I thought we were all supposed to be equal? Isn't that what we've always been told? Isn't it stereotyping to say that black atheletes are just naturally superior to whites???

    I'm shocked--SHOCKED I say--to discover all of this.

Either that or he really believes in his abilities . . . and can't wait to prove people wrong.
