and he has NEVER asked to be traded! Read on: http://www.blazersedge.com/2009/12/8/1191608/rudy-fernandez-to-undergo
"yah, he didn't ask...he demanded" "yah, he didn't aqsk, but said if they don't find him minutes, he'd prefer to be traded instead".
While part of it is certainly on Rudy, something tells me he'd be better off in a system that had great ball movement and an actual flow to their offense, and not relegated to standing at the 3pt line. In fact, pretty much every player in the NBA would be. Idk, I just have no trust in Nate at this point.
This is the time to see all aspects of Bayless. We'll see more potential or faults of this player with increased minutes. Hopefully he gains more experience proving that hes someone that we can hold onto and trade Blake for a PF or center as a backup.
It doesn't matter anyway, he's done for a month or two and the sciatic nerve was bad enough for a surgeon to cut on him, so I'm guessing he wasn't getting quite the lift on his jumper he was used to. The slimmest of slim silver linings is that we probably now get to to see just what we have in Pendergraph, Cunningham, and Bayless and maybe even Mills too when he's healthy enough. If any of them can make any kind of positive impact it means that could have actual trade value or value as roster holders. I was somewhat hopeful Bayless would get some burn, but this isn't exactly the way I saw it going down.
I've always had a pretty jaundiced view of Martell, but I'm worn out by the argument over him ... in fact I think I'm pretty much worn out on all of the arguments about all the players on this roster; the past 4 or 5 days have pretty much sapped it out of me. On a somewhat related note: Is anybody else feeling like this place gets in the way of actually enjoying the team sometimes?
Uh, if you're asking me if I think Nate has a hard time having a clue about certain things, I don't need to mull it over any more. If you're asking if I think he'd like to have Batum in for the 18 mpg that Webster's not in there and our best defender is Roy (shudder), then I agree. I'm finding it hard to believe that Nate feels the missing link to this team is the player he played less than 20 mpg last year. But if you want to make it a Trash Webster thread, by all means...
You could also read it here, here and here. Or here (the term is "defensive stopper" in that one), here (he's just a "solid wing defender that's improving, but somehow also a "secret weapon"). It could just be me, though.
I don't think anyone is enjoying the team right now.. from coaches to players to fans to everyone else.
We might feel a letdown because we might question our medical staff and upper management decisions is the reason why our team is getting hurt. We want to point a the finger at someone but its seeming like an endless cycle. Hopefully the staff takes a look at bayless value at this point and hopefully it surpasses Blakes.
