    - trade Calderon.

Just a thought, but with the Nets pretty much guaranteed to have the lowest (or at least one of the lowest) records in the NBA, why not try and trade them for their first rounder? Obviously the Raps won't pull the trigger until theres a week (or less) left before the deadline, but why not? The Nets already have Devin Harris and they may trade down seeing as a PG isn't their #1 priority. I've always thought John Wall would look good as a Raptor.

    Meh :dunno:

It would be cool to have a chance at John Wall but why would the Nets want another PG when the have Rafer and Harris already.

fuck john wall, i want productivity today and we already have a stud in chris bosh. i say trade for monta ellis and if we have to give up demar for him, so be it. fyi- monta has been averaging over 30 ppg since the jack trade.

Don Nelson will get fired before Monta Ellis gets traded. Just to put it in perspective.

But seriously, whats wrong with getting John Wall. I can guarantee the kids going to be a superstar. A player to put asses on the seats. A PG who can change the game the same way Rondo/Rose can. I think he'll produce right away. A tandem of Wall/Bosh could end up being something great. Whereas, I question not only Monta's ability to make his teammates better, but the attitude he carries with him and the chemistry problems he may cause.

Trade Bargs for Andrew Bogut or Chris Kaman, go back in time so the raps can hire Rick Adelman before the Rockets did and run some old school Sacramento Kings action with Bosh being the new Webber and Bogut or Kaman being Divac, Hedo is old Hedo/Stojackovic and Calderon can be our Bibby.

You know, as long as we're fantasizing about basketball.

getting john wall would involve tanking and that invariably leads us to losing bosh. how many great big men are left in the game? i can probably count them on one hand, while there are many (10 or more) great guards in this league. and john wall being great is not a given so im not cool with the tanking scenario especially with new jersey and minny in the league who might not win 20 games combined, so no, thats a terrible strategy.

as for don nelson- he calls the shots in golden state and if u dont believe me- ask chris mullins who was dismissed at nelson's urging in spite of some great under the radar drafting (i.e. monta ellis in the second round) of late.

why monta? legit number 2 option on the team, something bosh has never played alongside. a far superior defender to caledron. and he can penetrate the defense creating easy shots for our shooters, something we havent had since tj. the monta character issues are sensationalized- i think it was more jackson than anybody and the warriors play of late since the trade demonstrates my point. plus, monta would be surrounded by good character guys in toronto. oh and btw, he's only 24 years old!!!

In another raptors forum, someone was proposing:

    Chris Bosh + 1st rounder

    for

    Brook Lopez + 1st rounder + fillers

(this trade would obviously happen in the offseason, sign-and-trade)

would you guys bite on this?

The Nets would get a superstar to team up with Devin Harris, Douglas-Roberts, Terrence Williams + the first rounder they draft (Cole Aldrich, Arnett Moultrie?)

    AND

We just move Bargnani to the 4, Lopez at the 5, draft John Wall (or whoever is projected at #1-2) and a couple of our guys gain some experience, get better (Derozan) and we keep building. That way, we don't completely salvage our current team which can still make the playoffs, but our future is also much brighter at the PG situation and given a few more trades (Calderon? Hedo? who knows) we actually look like a team who can be a contender in a year or two.

we already traded our away first rounder for this year in the JO trade but its lottery protected. nevertheless, we cant trade away the pick so it doesnt exist. so this trade would never happen. and would the nets trade away brook lopez plus a potential top 3 pick in this year's draft for bosh? dont think so. maybe brook lopez, courtney lee and a protected first rounder for bosh would make more sense but i dont see the nets doing that either because i believe they feel confident they can land a star in the 2010 offseason without giving up anything. and a star (e.g. joe johnson, amare) alongside, brook lopez, devin harris, their top 3 pick sounds more appealing than bosh and devin harris.

actually i think a Lebron or Wade would prefer to play with Bosh and Harris along with all that young talent. A superstar>a borderline all star.

But i agree this trade will be very hard to pull off given the pick is protected.
