Why does Howard play? Can Tolliver be any worse?

I mean what does Howard offer other then no defense, fouls, bad rebounding, and a inconsistent jumper. He has NO GAME. This Tolliver kid cant be worse. He can shoot threes, rebound, and play defense. All things howard cant do. Hell all things cunningham cant do. lets be fair here. Why is this guy not playing over howard or cunningham. Ever notice we get killed in the 2 qtr when those bums are on the floor? i mean what more do you need to see. Enter Howard or cunningham... lead either grows (if we are losing) or we lose the lead (if we are winning.) I mean thats the best KP can do?

Wait till we play teams with good 2nd units. Not that Howard hasnt been exposed but the best is yet to come. GOD THEY SUCK!

I guess we should have seen this coming.

Not even a day into his signing and MIXUM already complaining about why this scrub, who has played maybe 5 games total in the NBA, isn't getting more minutes.

THis thread is actually a decent question but like usual you missed the real point, which should be why isn't Cunningham getting more than 4mpg?

As for Tolliver, dud just flew to Portland from Boise today and probably didn't get any work with the team outside of the pre-game shoot around.

To be fair he played 19 games for the Spurs and averaged 11mpg.

why should cunnimgham get more minutes?

EASY. Hes a 1 trick pony. !7 foot jumper. Bad defense. Offers NOTHING else at all.

Tolliver can shoot the three and score. Seems like decent defender. Good rebounder. Why not give him a chance. I mean I think he can let guys run by him just like howard or foul like cunningham. Least he can make a three. if the spurs liked him... thats all i need to know.

You know this HOW? Have you watched him play? Or are you just going off people saying he's good at these things?

Do you even pay attention to yourself? You were just bitching that Aldridge will carry us nowhere becasue he plays outside, and now you want Tolliver to play because he can shoot the 3 as a 6'9" PF/C.

In Tollivers 19 games with the spurs in his 11mpg he averaged 2.2rpg and 2.7ppg. Cunningham does that in 8mpg.

How do you have all this inside info on this guy's game. And why weren't you going crazy on here when he was still available on draft day and KP passed on him? And why didn't you start a thread about how we should try to acquire him 2 weeks ago?

I agree, I was very unhappy with what we came out of that draft with, but don't sell this cat Tolliver as our savior! This guy is not even a journeyman at best. He was brought in as a punching dummy for our team. That is all.

Cunningham plays good defense (way better than Howard) and rebounds better as well. Howard plays more cause he's 2 inches taller and it more normal for him to play center. Tolliver probably isn't that good at defense or rebounding, or he would have been in the NBA before, since apparently he can shoot.

I would say it's too early to judge the draft. Cunningham is capable. Pendergraph and Mills haven't played yet and Claver is a top prospect in Spain. We are already bitching about the team being too stacked and too young as it is anyway.

Jeesh MIXUM you're even more of a troll than ever.

I'm sure Tolliver would have set the world on fire and we would of actually won the game.

Oh wait, we did win the game didn't we?

Howard is an ageing vet that has lost his athleticism, but he's always had a reliable mid-range jumper. When you say he has an inconsistent jumper, your just flat out full of shit, he's shooting 60% from the field. I'd say thats just a little bit better than inconsistent.

But why let the facts get in the way of a shitty post?

Back to the original question: Could he be any worse than Howard? Yes.

It's been one game. He doesn't know anything about our offense. He's been on the team for 2-3 days and just got into Portland. Did you really expect him to play last night?

I am actually just mystified that you are calling out the 14th guy on our bench for playing badly. Dude, he is the 14th guy on the bench. Do you seriously expect the 14th guy on the bench to play well? Hell back in the days where you had a 12 man roster, if you had talent past position #8 you were a deep team, let alone the 15 man roster we are allowed now.
