    I've already stated that point.

Um, they seem to be doing a good job with alcohol. /sarcasm

I can't believe how ignorant you are towards marijuana when you seem to be so educated in other subjects. It's not like you smoke weed and then get an urge to try painkillers, then cocaine, then heroin...

People with fucked up personalities go on to abuse and become dependent on marijuana. I know a friend who has wasted his life to marijuana because of his depression. His mother died when he was a Freshman and all he does is smoke day-in, day-out. He will be the type of person to go on to the harder drugs (I hate to say it).

I can smoke everyday if I wanted to, and I would still wake up and go to work. I would still feed myself (more so). I would still look after my hygiene. I would still socialize and go to parties. I would still get some putang. It would not effect my day-to-day activities in the least.

I'm glad we agree. Why add another drug to the mix?

You rarely see people start off with meth or heroin. Usually people who abuse start with pot. I don't see how my post is ignorant. People start experimenting--usually with pot--and if they like drugs, they'll continue to experiment with ever harder drugs.

Again we agree on this point. Why allow those people to access it legally? Why not make it more difficult for them to waste their lives.

It seems you and I are in full agreement.

You say that now, but you're still a teenager. Most can do what you stated, but will you fully function? Or will you need a hit to get you through the afternoon, or a social engagement, etc. In other words, there are highly functioning drunks, just as there are highly functioning potheads. But why expand that last group?

We'll have to agree to disagree, maxiep.

Prohibition didn't work the first time it was tried.

And like I said, prohibition of alcohol will never work. How on earth can you outlaw something that is made by fermenting everyday ingredients? I'm not calling for the prohibition of alcohol; I just don't believe marijuana should be legalized.

Beer-buzzed boy, 4, wanted to visit jailed dad

Mom says he got drunk, stole girl's dress because he 'wants to go to jail'

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Tennessee investigators say a 4-year-old boy was found roaming his neighborhood in the night, drinking beer and wearing a little girl's dress taken from under a neighbor's Christmas tree.

The child's mother, 21-year-old April Wright, told WTVC-TV that the boy "wants to go to jail because that's where his daddy is."

Wright said she and the boy's father are going though a divorce.

The boy, found outside his house in Chattanooga on Tuesday, was taken to a hospital and treated for alcohol consumption.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Departmentspokeswoman Janice Atkinson said the incident is being investigated but the department declined to release the report.

The boy's mother said she met with child protective services and was told she will get to keep custody of her son.

What are the long term affects? I am curious. I have been smoking for about 18 years now. Haven't really noticed any affects.

I agree with this. Anyone who has a "pot problem" - the problem is not the weed.

I am almost there. Still, no terrible side affects. I work out, I play sports, I am active, thin, eat well, can run for miles. I have a good job. I consider myself pretty smart (when it comes to computers, that is my trade).

It's not the weed that gives you cancer, it's the smoke going in your lungs. It's not the nicotine that kills, it's the smoke! It's not the THC, it's the smoke!

Emotional addiction I can agree with. When I am having a bad day or I get pissed, I often cannot WAIT for a nice bong hit. Knowing I have a bong hit at home waiting for me can make my day 100% better.

Anti-Social behavior, I can almost agree with. I know plenty of smokers who are VERY social. me being one of them. But I don't think the weed makes you anti-social. I think if you are like that, you are just like that. Weed or not.

Weed doesn't change you lol just makes you laugh and eat.

The government has been beating the reefer madness drum since the 50's. Does anyone else find it strange that, if pot was as bad as the government wants you to believe, there aren't plenty of studies proving that it's bad?

There aren't studies because the results would prove that the government has been lying for 60 years, imo. It's criminal that they classify weed in the same category with cocaine and heroin.

As far as a gateway drug goes....everyone I know that smokes/smoked pot started out drinking alcohol.
