Me too. You probably remember JP averaged 13/9 on his CYO team that year. I still think that Father Jacobson should have ran more of the offense through Jeff, but you know the politics of youth league basketball . . .
I think you are spot on with this. It's early to be comparing JP to anybody, but I think we all have a feeling about this kid. He's got an attitude that he belongs out there already. How is that possible for a rookie who missed the first 30 games? On a team fighting for the playoffs? (It's not like he's playing for the Nets) He so fundamentally sound, and he knows his limitations. He is a Brain Grant Clone. Hopefully, we don't trade this one for Professor Klump.
Well, I'll hand it to him, he looked like the only player on the team last night that wanted to hit somebody in the mouth. Too bad nobody else could summon the energy to follow him.
That's not a bad ceiling to shoot for in a backup rookie. I'm so glad that Howard's there to teach him this year.
He reminds me of Dante Cunningham. One good game and posters start thinking he is the answer. Just a matter of time before posters are naming their screen name after him and demandng he gets more time. Until he comes down to earth . . . then he is back down to Cunningham status.
Haha. I guess I am going to go against the grain and say that I am not terribly confident will even be a starter-level player in the NBA... let alone a borderline all-star like Brian Grant was. I definitely hope that he surprises me. Ed O.
I think Pendergraph is only playing because all most all of the players in front of him are injured for the season. He may be doing an admirable job in holding down the fort but if both Joel and Oden come back strong next year JP shouldn't get off the bench for more then a few minutes all season.
Naturally, but at least we have our 3rd string center situation taken care of. As long as we have Oden and Joel, we should be packing 3 centers in our 15-man clip.
