blazerbanter BREAKING: #Blazers plan to sign Shavlik Randolph on Wednesday. Randolph expected to be in Portland for #Clippers game. #NBA http://twitter.com/blazerbanter
HCP, you absolutely must find out when he is to arrive. Can you imagine fifty fans waving signs, chanting "Shav-lik! Shav-lik! Shav-lik!" at the bus station?
http://www.greentortoise.com/adventure.travel.html If he gets on the bus now, maybe he'll be able to hook up with the team sometime in February.
Sorry, don't have a list of every free agent/nbdl player at hand. I heard Loren Wood is playing on a short-term deal for a team in *Iran*. I would guess he would be inclined to return to the NBA, given any excuse.
I'm confused...why another exception? Is Shav in place of Tolliver? ***nvm***just found out it WAS in place of Tolliver...my bad...just walked 4 miles in the snow because idiots in cars blocked Germantown Rd so I'm a little out of it...
Yep. We should get another exception for Joel, which would last (I would assume) until Rudy or Nic comes back...
I never heard an explanation why we got a 2nd exception when Joel went down... Pendergraph came back by then, so didn't that keep us at the necessary minimum number of players?
I think I read that the exception may be granted when a team loses the 4th player from its regular rotation for three games and they're expected to be out for a significant period of time. With Nic, Rudy, and Travis down, Greg was the 4th rotation player out and Joel was the 5th. Presumably, the team would have to cut an added player when one of those guys becomes available to play again.
Interesting. There must be a mpg or total minutes played cutoff for defining a rotation player in that case?
