Lil' guy likes to chuck it, dudn't he? I guess he does have 10 dimes to go with his 20 something shots
For all the "it's the D-League" stuff....he's 7-10 on 3's. Our players (especially PG's like Blake and Bayless) get a ton of open-ish threes.
Not during games, he can't. Then again, I guess the same question can be asked about Mills, but this performance has been encouraging.
While it is the D-League, this is certainly encouraging to see Mills put up these numbers in his first game since summer league (did he even play in the summer league, or get injured in practice??). The guy certainly has some ability, as he flashed when the Aussie's played the US. While he may never be a top-level talent, I can easily see him as a solid role player in the NBA. While Mills hasn't done anything in the NBA yet, he's not a bad pickup late in the draft. A good pickup for a GM who hasn't done anything to earn his money.
theres alot of second rounders NOT able to put up stats in the dleague, so thats something i guess....
If fairness guys, Tolliver played 4 minutes here. Now we might assume that Tolliver must suck if he couldn't get more minutes with all the injuries we have in the front court. But we ARE talking about Nate. He looked a little skittish to me in his (brief) time here. Maybe if given more opportunities he could relax and . . . a 6'9" guy who can shoot 3's will be given another shot somewhere. Just wasn't what we needed at this time. San Antonio thought enough about him to give him a look last year, he just didn't shoot well. Maybe if he gets picked up by the Nets or somebody who isn't pushing for a playoff spot he'll find his stroke. He isn't a total stiff either - he seems to be able to rebound fairly well. Maybe a Tim Thomas Light? Mills 38/12 (7-10 from 3's) was impressive. He's got a nice jumper, and he handles the rock real well.
So it's ok and applauded to take a talented guy with injury concerns in the second round if it's at a position we're overloaded at, but not an extremely talented and accomplished guy with injury concerns who actually hadn't missed a practice in 3 years at a position of need? You're right. Absolutely no reason for questioning there.
Uh, what or who are you talking about? You don't think it was wise to pick up Mills as one of the last picks of the draft? Was there an extremely talented and accomplished player available that late in the draft?
