Welker led the league in receptions with a backup QB. Having Delhomme is no excuse...

Delhomme had an amazing running game as well, and was awful.

Welker is definitely a better possession receiver, but isn't near the deep threat that Smith is. I think most people would take Smith over Welker.

Welker's younger, quicker, runs better routes, and catches the ball down the middle better. Steve Smith is like Randy Moss without the ridiculous size and athleticism.

    Welker is severely overlooked.

If it's a Welker-Smith debate, I want Welker. Possession receivers are huge in the NFL and hey, at least Welker won't punch another teammate.

    Welker is indeed overlooked.

However think about last year, Delhomme wasn't even clearly better than Matt Cassel yet Steve Smith dominated more than Welker ever has. He played 14 games but at over 100 yards a game.

This year Delhomme was clearly not even an average QB, Smith looked better with Moore.

2 years ago, I would have taken Steve Smith over Welker easy. Now Smith's lost a step, he's gotten lazy, and I can't count on him to consistently be on the field.

Even then, I'd take Moss and Fitzgerald over both of these guys.

I'm still confused how you managed to leave Fitz out of this. You have Welker, Desean and Vincent Jackson (which is a homer pick I bet) on there, none of whom are as good as Fitz.

At the time I made the poll, I just forgot about Fitz. VJ was on a hot streak, as was Desean. Welker is a rather house hold name now. Fitz hadn't done shit all year.

Well I know Welker is a household name (or should be), and I'm not taking anything away from the Jackson's, they both had good years, but I still don't get how you forget Fitz. The dude did grab 13 TDs and had 1100 yards this year, which are still good numbers, just not quite as good as his past 2 seasons (though he did set a career high for TD catches).

Smith played in 15 games. I don't see what that has to do with Jake having a QB rating of 59 and getting sacked at a high rate due to his lack of awareness.

Well Delhomme is certainly not at Cassel level now, and he has two 1100 yard rushers at 5.5 yards per touch. He is a bit above JaMarcus level.

That's cause he was nowhere near the best WR 2 years ago.

Cassel is clearly a great QB! Just kidding.

Welker is good on his own, as is Moss.
