What's the point where you just throw in the towel? We are 22-15 and fading fast with the upcoming schedule. I would love to think our GM would make a deal for us but i know im not holding my breath. Now granted we will get a few guys back but in all honesty... batum and rudy arent what we need. We need a center/pf. I also have to give webster prps... hes ben great. Batum could never score like that. Should we be under 500. by januarys end, are we finished or does kp make a move. Ive been wondering a while what the point of no return is for this club.

I have to think though... should KP tank... what kind of message does that send to these guys. You played your hearts out for nothing. You won all those impossible games for nothing. Just typing this makes me hate Prtichard even more. The wizards have every piece we need badly.
Yet im sure kp hasnt even called.

Anyhow... this isnt a kpee bashing thread. It a question of when does this season become "too late" for the blazers playoff chances. Way I see it....

    8. Blazers? (Am i being too kind?) Last years version of the hornets?
    9. Jazz (unless they tank)

    Not this year?

    10. Grizz (i could see them making the playoffs but also falling apart and losing lots down teh stretch.)
    11. Hornets (just dont see them getting in.)
    12. Sac (this recent stretch killed them but remember they get martin back.)

So in reality... Its Portland, OKC, Houston, JAzz and Grizzz fighting for 3 spots. My money says its between portland, jazz, and grizz. 1 gets in. obvioulsy if jazz tank... it will be us or the grizz.

Does it matter? Let the games play out and see where the cards fall. Even though the Blazers are going to have a rough go of it for the rest of the season, they are playing hard, and with the current situation, that is all I can ask for. I know they aren't going to win a ton of games this year. But they are trying hard with what they got. I am good with that. If nothing else, lets try to spoil some other teams plans.

Spurs are definitely not a top 3 western conference team.

Dont know what kind of blunt your smoking?

Wow, Christmas just keeps coming for you MIXUM. If you've really been a good boy we'll lose to the L*kers and Cleveland.

There's nothing you love more than the Blazers struggling. I can't imagine how sad the rest of your life is.

With Roy beat up as badly as he is, and Aldridge beat up as he is, WTF do you expect man? Do you realistically expect Andre Miller to carry this team to the playoffs when we can't stop any teams from shooting over 50% and we can only win the rebounding battle one out of every couple nights?

i expect the excuses to stop and for roy and aldridge to step up if they are indeed our core.

i expect the gm to get help for now and in the future.

i didnt expect the fans to bail on the season like lots of have.

Yes they are. They currently have the third least losses in the conference and they always pick up steam in the 2nd half of the season. Spurs are still very much contenders.

I think it's the other way around. He detests losing.

I'll concede the playoffs are not happening the day the standings say "mathematically eliminated from playoff contention". And then I still want us to win every game.

Anyone remember "Black Saturday" April 14, 2007, when many were saying that we couldn't even tank properly b/c we beat the Sonics and let them have better draft position over us? Well, that ping-pong ball got us the #1 pick.

In 3 weeks we should have a healthy 4/5 of our shoulda-been starting lineup: Miller, Roy, Batum/Webs, LMA, ??. (honestly, we might have it today). That "??" is a big one, obviously. But we have firepower. We have defense, with our team playing properly. We may have the best home court advantage in the league outside of the 8-on-5 that regularly happens at Staples.

This thing ain't over yet, by a long shot.

Batum & Rudy will help. We can't roll with a 7 man rotation for much longer. A big part of why they lost that game last night was fatigue. And we have to get Brandon more rest.

But you are right, there is a GAPING hole in the middle.

When we win, he's nowhere to be found. If you're too stupid to see his act, then you should return your diploma to Ann Arbor. Your idiocy and drama queen act are shaming England Dan.

When Joel went down any wishes I had for a playoffs appearance sort of evaporated. I'll still watch the team, I'll still get excited when they win, I'll still watch and see what kind of player development occurs in the young guys, but I probably won't be as frustrated or down as I would have been when the team was sort of imploding under expectations and broken chemistry early in the season.

Somehow it is easier to root for the doomed hero than the colossus with the clay feet.

That's just not true. After that awesome win over the Bulls, he was in here raving about the team. There've been other instances too.

What about the time we moved to 5th in the ESPN and NBA.com power rankings? He was the first guy in here to post that.
