Congratulations, guys. You guys really checked us tonight. Every time we got close, you turned it up another level. I was thoroughly impressed with the heart of your team. Mine? Not so much. Great effort tonight and I can't wait to match up with ya'll again.
See bolded. I'm jealous. but yeah, congrats. You guys played much harder than us, and once again we cannot win in Portland. fml
Thanks man. That's awfully gracious of ya. It was just a great game all round. I thought both teams played hard. But you know, ball don't lie.
Yeah, Phil perplexed me when he had Artest on him. Artest is an amazing defender...on 3's and 4's. The damn dude isn't as quick as he used to be and weighs probably near 265 lbs of solid muscle. He can't keep up with quick 2's anymore.
He couldn't really stop B-Roy in the playoffs last year, either. He takes risks and gets himself off to one side. A big wide-body 3 or 4 can't go around that, but Roy's sleek and has a quick first step. It's like asking Roy politely to break your ankles. But Artest I think called for that matchup on the court, rather than it being a written up matchup.
Great game. Playoff type atmosphere as it always is when these two teams play..At least in the Rose Garden...I got kind of nervous as the end when LA made a run. Portland got a hell of a lot of calls which really surprised me.
Artest was brought in to guard the biggers guys, like the Carmelos, Pierces, and Lebrons. I don't know why the fuck he was on Roy. Didn't B Roy torch him last year in the playoffs? Just more perplexing moves by the Zen Master... I love how it seems like your team, from 1 to 15 is ready to step up and play at any given moment. You guys should be pretty damn proud.
To pre-emptively defend McMillan, Miller was supposed to come in for Bayless, but he was shooting FT's (which put us up by 20) so Nate took a chance and gave Webster a breather. When it got close though, he did the right thing, and brought back Webster and Howard into the game, and took out Bayless. Smart game by Nate tonight, imvho.
Congratulations the Nate, management, coaches, and the team. Nate, Kevin and Andre, always the professional throughout their careers, handled this perfectly. Again, congratulations to all of them as they earned this win and should enjoy it tonight.
The Lakers should learn from the Blazers on how to psyche up a team a couple of days before a big game. They should study every scrap of paper, every article by eavesdropping reporters, about how the cunning Miller started the argument with McMillan. Kobe should pick Miller's brain over a free dinner to acquire some of his devious genius.
Black Mamba, you have to stop. Between you and DaRizzle, you're destroying every stereotype I have of L*ker fans. Can't you just let me hate?
