Probably not. The only thing that we have going for us, is the same thing all the teams have going for them. The Wizards are probably going to tear down the team and rebuild. Chances are, they don't want a couple of hurt leftovers from Portland to rebuild with.
This Sean Williams? (The fun part was that they released him so they could acquire... Shawne Williams! Somewhere Shaun Williams is feeling left out.)
Damn.. Armstrong would've fit that role of a stop-gap big man for us. And for a conditional second-rounder? Might as well just give him away for free. 6-11 guy who bangs around and can board wouldn't have been bad. Don't know what his contract situation is though..
He has a team option for next season. Making 2.8 million this season, which is why we were unable to do anything as good as this for N.O. to bring him in here.
1. Hilton Armstrong is not a very good big man. Even if we had the cap space, which we don't, I wouldn't give up a 2nd rounder for him. That's like moving Pendergraph or Cunningham for him, both of which, at younger ages, are significantly superior big men. I'd much rather keep our 2nd rounder to get a much better player in the offseason. 2. We do have the roster spot, we'd just need to waive Randolph, and Randolph is also more skilled IMO, so ...
More skilled? At Basketball? Maybe before S-bo had surgery quite a while back, but Hilton is a much better big man these days even as he's having his worst season as a pro.
I thought we were talking about pianists. My bad. Love the question though. Cracked me up. I actually like Randolph. When given time during his last stint with us he always produced, and more efficiently than Armstrong does. I still think he's a quality guy, and yes, more skilled.
Isn't that roster spot a "Get me through" until we get a few bodies back, or is it good for the whole year?
I think it depends on what becomes available. He's currently signed to a 10-day contract through the 18th of January. We can then sign him to a second 10-dayer. We then let him go or sign him through the remainder of the season.
kpee did nothing again??????????????? shut up... this is a joke right??? not kpee... he always makes trades....right???? we didnt need a center.... we still have our culture!
Kings get a big man? They aren't even in the playoff hunt. Teams are hunting for PGs and big men right now . . . KP needs to get aggressive if he plans on making a move this year.
The Hornets wanted to get under the cap. The Blazers did not have enough cap space for Armstron - so they could not help NOH. How would KP get cap space where no cap space exists? Are you calling for him to abduct David Stern? Because, you know, David Stern monitors these forums, and he will not take it sitting down. If I were you, I would grow a beard and start running to the border, right now.
