Totally agree, and part of that is his passing ... He has literally blown me away -- I considered him a pretty big reach at 5th overall.
It would be comical to find a debate arguing that their guards aren't the worst in the league. Do they have a 2 on their roster? They are a terrible team overall as expected. I don't think any stats really capture whats what on the defensive end so I mostly rely on what I'm seeing. Love is a little shortchanged in the length department as a 4 and not especially quick. While he's okay guarding most 4s he struggles on the regular defensive switches to 3s or 5s, so teams exploit him. Of course they are better with KL then without, as he is one of their best players... hell, I'd love to have him as the 3rd Big behind LA and Greg as he could play with either. STOMP
I would take LA in a heartbeat over him. Not sure of the exact numbers, but LA has dominated him in head-to-heads!
I would take LMA over him as well but only based on potential. If LMA ever develops the ability to play with passion and be more physical he would easily be one of the top PFs in the league. Love is incredibly smart on the court. He is great at positioning himself to get rebounds without fouling or using a lot of energy so he can do it every minute he's in the game. I've always known he's had an outside shot so it's nice to see him finally able to hit some three's now that Rambis is there and isn't putting a leash on him.
I don't agree that he's a tier above Aldridge. He's more productive than Aldridge, but Aldridge is significantly better than him on defense.
He is ok. I think that if he was truly as good as many here make him out to be, Minnesota's record would have been a lot better the last few seasons.
If Lamarcus was in Love's position he wouldn't be winning that team any games. They just don't have the players to compete on a nightly basis. You can put Love in any offense and he would be putting up the same numbers he is now. He doesn't demand a lot of possessions to get his points. He's getting about 5 offensive boards a game that are most likely right around the hoop. That's 8-10 ppg off put backs alone...
This is only his second year; there's not much he could do for the pups when he was at UCLA and Lake O.
If he were a TRULY great player, he could have. Instead, he was just stat-stuffing at UCLA and LO, rather than helping the Timberwolves win games.
No, couple=2, few generally implies more than a couple. Good try though http://www.dailywritingtips.com/few-vs-several/ Apologies for pedantry
Yes, at the age of 20 and 21 he should have led that team to a better record. :| Maybe when he turns 22 in September he'll finally be able to carry a terrible team on his own. Ed O.
U of O lost any chance at Kevin Love when Nike fired him from their AAU team at the age of 16. I'd have loved to see him play in state, but when the chief sponsor of one of those schools is acting like a total dick, I don't blame him for going elsewhere. And the death threats sent to his cell phone and Duck fans screaming "WHORE" at his granny and little sis until they started to cry just reinforces that he made the right choice. BNM
I haven't personally met Kevin. I have interacted with his dad and I can say that dad has serious issues. I personally had no interest in meeting his son after talking to him.
Hahahahaha that sounds about right. His dad is a nice guy you just have to know him. Kevin isn't really like his dad at all though. I don't really think he would care to meet some random guy either but I know what you mean about Stan.
