great idea but two of the three (vince and lebron) are cowards. the more plausible idea would be for every single all star (rookie participants, nba saturday night contestants and the dudes in the big game) to donate their winnings or appearance fees to the red cross.

Attention whore. Shaq should quietly donate money on his own.

If he did he'd make sure the media knew about it.

Shaq does a lot of donations and public services. He recently won NBA Cares Community Award.

I remember him working really hard helping people in Louisiana and Mississippi when Hurricane Katrina destroyed everything.

If I had to bet, I would bet that he donated a good chunk of money to the people in Haiti, look at his twitter page and he is asking for people to help.

He doesn't need to draw attention towards it. If he wants to be charitable great, but he should do it on the down low and without all the fanfare.

He should do it in any way he wants to do it as long as he is helping people.

On the actual dunk contest. Call out Kobe, who is injured. Good job.

shaq may do it privately but i see no problem with celebrities who get outspoken about their philanthropy because it gets regular joe's and jane's involved in the cause, whatever it may be.

I prefer people being humble about it. They should take pleasure in being fortunate enough to provide for less fortunate people.

I don't have a problem with celebs doing telethons and bringing awareness to something, but what Shaq does is self serving for his own publicity.

I see your point, Shaq is an attention whore even when he doesn't help people. It's his nature. I prefer a charity oriented attention whore than a more selfish version.
