    Who's on the market:

    1. Amar'e Stoudemire, Suns
    2. Andre Iguodala, 76ers
    3. Rudy Gay, Grizzlies
    4. Hasheem Thabeet, Grizzlies
    5. Nate Robinson, Knicks
    6. D.J. Augustin, Bobcats
    7. Kevin Martin, Kings
    8. Andres Nocioni, Kings
    9. Vince Carter, Magic
    10. Shane Battier, Rockets

This doesn't surprise me when they have Gasol, who's developing into a beast.

    Thabeet, anyone?

I'd rather give up more and make a run at Gasol...Not gonna happen but I would definitely give up Rudy and Outlaw for him.

No one on that list I want to see the Blazers make a major move for.

Maybe Rudy Gay, but with Webster or Batum likely to fill the SF position well enough, I don't think trading the young assets for a SF makes a lot of sense.

It would be wild to have a starting lineup with Aldridge Roy and Gay. Just add Bargnani and a PG from that class (Foye?) and you have an all 2006 draft team.

Why would the Grizzlies want to trade Rudy Gay?

Hmmm is he a free agent coming up? Maybe they think they can't afford him? Who knows.

I think that's it. They couldn't reach an agreement this summer (unlike Roy, Aldridge and Barg). I'm guessing they feel that Rudy will be demanding more than the Griz think he is worth and may lose him in restricted free agency.

I would look at Thabeet as a deep bench project guy if our bench situation with a full roster wasn't so bad. You could sign him, and then make him buddies will Bill Bayno for the next 2 years and roll the dice. But with a full roster, there is no room for a guy like that.

What would be interesting is if Memphis and Houston undid their 2006 trade. Battier for Gay? I think Memphis would need more, but Houston gets a good scorer, alleviating some of the job from Ariza, allowing him to be mroe of a defensive stopper. Memphis has plenty of scoring, but could use a solid wing defender. They could then look to shore up their bench a little bit, and have a legitimate chance at surprising someone in the playoffs.

I'm not sure why Memphis wants to mess with success. I mean, they're just about to surpass their best win total for the previous three seasons and they still have half a season to go. Rudy Gay's no small part of their team, and Thabeet's not a bad player to have as a back up, especially since he's on a rookie contract. But then again, it's Chris Wallace - nothing makes sense.

Now if (s)he was in the WNBA, the jersey would be a best seller. :D

If Iggy is really on the market, I would target him.

    1. Says who?
    2. On what basis? Lack of minutes? "Insider" info?

    Duh.

More than Brand and Dalembert? I don't think so. Is this just a list of players other teams might actually want? And the only way I buy Iggy being available is as sweetener on a deal to move either of the aforementioned ugly contracts (although right now I guess they can no more trade Dalembert than the Blazers could fire Cheeks after that anthem thing).

Again, I'd like to know why. He's playing much better than before and actually seems to be coexisting happily with Mayo, which used to be a problem. But they didn't give him an extension, so maybe they want to get something for him before he bolts.

I don't believe it. No GM admits a blunder that quickly, and besides which, it wasn't actually a blunder, because he's improving quickly and leads the league in BPM.

    Duh, again.

Boy, Brown sure soured on him fast. But that's typical Larry: pester the GM to trade for/draft a player, and then turn around the next day and ask for him to be traded. NEVER give Larry Brown say in personnel matters.
Is he obviously better than Patty Mills?

    My nomination for League LVP.

I'd be sort of interested, after watching him almost carry a Manu-less Argentina by himself. But only if he can play 4. Not much fun to watch any more (he won't be dunking on Garnett, as he did in his pre-NBA days), but intense.

Really? Because he's no longer the +/- king? Or because they have 37 players between 6'5" and 6'8"? It almost makes sense, but would Daryl Morey trade with Pritchard?
