So, I just now realized something, once Roy returns (whenever that may be), all of our wings will be healthy and that seems to mean one guy is going to get either like 10 or so minutes or even completely dropped from the lineup. I am thinking that guy, even though we should still let him play and develop, is going to be Bayless. I mean, lets look at this, you have Miller/Blake at PG, Roy/Rudy at SG, and Batum/Webster at SF. Miller will command a lot of minutes, as will Roy, and Webster and Batum I think have the SF position locked up meaning Roy probably won't slide over to SF and Rudy won't get all that much time. Then you have Blake backing up Miller, whom Nate would never take out of the rotation completely I assume. There may be possible time for Bayless as I haven't totally analyzed this, but I don't think it can be all that much. So, what happens to Bayless when the great one returns?
I'm hoping a trade happens soon so we don't have to worry about it. I think Rudy is the most likely to be traded. With Jerryd coming on, Batum back, and Webster playing decently, Rudy becomes redundant.
Oh yeah, I agree I think we need to make a trade, but I just have a hard time envisioning KP doing anything before the deadline. If someone of Rudy/Bayless/Blake/whoever is traded out, then that solves the problem, but if KP stands still once again, we may have an angry young player (whomever doesn't get much playing time between Bayless and Rudy) in our hands.
i doubt they can even think about trading batum cause he's an emerging defender and we really have no other SF besides martell unless we get iggy back. watching the games as of late... its becoming painfully clear rudy is not gonna be that hard to replace. he never hits big threes anymore and doesnt bring much to the table. he is a bad gambler and really not a good rebounder. he just makes dumb mistakes and if the 3 isnt falling.. hes as useful as blake. at least bayless gets to the rim. im thinking rudy is teh odd man out. rudy and outlaw for hayward .... yes please.
Bayless, Batum and Rudy.....in that order. People saying Blake obviously have no idea who our coach is.
I wish Blake. He needs to be traded or not re-signed in the offseason to clear up some space. Rudy doesn't seem like he will be here for the long term, so I'd entertain offers for him.
I say Miller. He he's been sucking it up recently. Either showcase him and trade his ass, or sit him on the bench. Also, I missed the game last night and nba.com and yahoo.com and cbssportsline.com are alll down. Did we beat the Mavs?
Batum is clearly going to get at least 25 MPG... dude is pretty good at D and all the little things. If Martell continues to revert back to form his minutes will continue to dwindle... dude can't handle the ball well enough to play SG. Miller has been a monster for a while now (his PER is 17.3)... he's in for at least 25 MPG as well. That leaves Bayless Rudy fighting over the remaining minutes with Captain Steve. Bayless gets to the line the most and is the most adept at defending quick PGs... I'm guessing 15-20 for him. Rudy has been ramping up his game reclaiming his top perimeter threat status. I'm guessing he'll win out above Rudy and Martell for the backup minutes in that role. Here is my best wing it guess on how things will shake out... Roy 35 MPG Batum 25 Martell 10 Rudy 25 Miller 25 Bayless 16 Blake 10 STOMP
Actually, I don't think it solves anything considering that any trade that does not bring us back a starter, I would probably consider a failure. We don't need to make a trade for trade's sake, we actually need to get better. This only works if multiple players depart.
I hope Blake is the odd man out...but I fear it may be Bayless. It'd be nice to see Roy's minutes kept to 30 minutes or so for a while to ensure durability.
Disagree. Rudy has skills unique to our guard unit, and is our best defender of guards. Miller/Bayless is the only redundancy we have, and one of those guys (Miller) will be retiring before we have a title in our sights. Miller trade coming soon.
