I hate the hipster ones, because it basically eliminates why you'd want to go to a dive bar in the first place. Although, i prefer a dive bar with hipsters over a trendy-ish bar. I hate crowds of people. More so at bars.

If I wanted a dingy place to drink for cheap, I'd drink at home.

I love all bars that arent "clubs". My beer belly doesnt discriminate, but I'm too old and far too sexy for the club scene.

Bar/clubs are nice! I don't dance though. My favorite kind of bar is the surf type of bar with the fake tiki torches and shit like that. drinks served in buckets!

Dive bars are the best. They never cut you off and all the women are whores. Just like me.

    Also

no frat boy drama, you talk shit at a dive bar, youre fighting.

The dive bars in Portland are scary. Its weird seeing like 40-60 year old trash at bar drinking it up with younger people....pretty casual...but kind of freaky. Dr. Feelgood's pub or something and a few others I checked out...really weird scene.

Exactly. Word for word I think I would have said the same thing. Except the fighting part. lol

Cheap drinks, cheap women, drink till you fall down. Perfect. Anything is possible at a dive bar.

I love dive bars. You never know who you're going to see. The same people show up at the clubs.

When I'm "slumming" it on the "eastside", I always see a bunch of random bars all over the place......just can't imagine going to those places, even ironically!

I like dive bars, but I still go to "hipper" dive bars for music sometimes.

I like Slim's in St John's since it's biking distance to my house...

Well, there's your problem. Going to places "ironically" as opposed to going somewhere because you like to or want to go there.

    Ding ding!!

Go into one of those places, sit down at the bar, and have a conversation with the person sitting next to you...you might find out you like it more than going somewhere where everyone is focused on impressing each other. The other benefit is you don't have to shower if you're heading to a dive bar...

Does anywhere in Lake Oswego really qualify as seedy?
