have in common? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stefan-sirucek/did-palin-use-crib-notes_b_452458.html
Watching Obama and the Republicans is evidence that the teleprompter talk is pure BS. The man can talk, with or without a teleprompter, that's for sure. More than we can say for her, eh?
I know she's dumb, but she couldn't remember those points without writing them on her hand? I could see it if she wrote the name of the assistant deputy prime minister of Tajikistan or something, but Energy, Tax, Budget cuts, Lift American Spirits? She needs a crib sheet for those? I sort of hope for her sake this is faked, because otherwise she has surely cemented her place as the dumbest politician in American history, and that's no mean feat. barfo
No, actually, it isn't. Writing "lift American spirits" on your hand is in fact worse than using a teleprompter to give a speech. barfo
his thoughts are well thought out, reasonable, and cogent- while she thinks in bullets points that translate into awkwardly articulated platitudes. and to compare president obama's intellect to her's is laughable- she took 6 years and 5 different schools to get her journalism degree and president obama was president of the harvard law review.
Answered that already. She's in the news because some people who have more money than sense paid her to read her palm to them. barfo
So he has to read every speech he gives ... why? Palin is not a great speaker and not a great thinker. Obama might be both, of course, but if even a great speaker who is a great thinker has to use a teleprompter that much, what hope is there for anyone in the future to ever do more than just read a speech? Ed O.
Not sure what you are fishing for here. She's relevant because she wants to run for president, and because she's famous enough to do so. Duh. Strike three. Checkmate. barfo
relevance? she reads off her goddam palm like a fifth grader and the teabaggers want her to run in 2012. and someone who cant remember- "energy", "tax" and "lift american spirits" is not fit to be president.
No, she's relevant because whatever message she's conveying is resonating beyond that little tea party movement. For whatever reason she appears to be connecting with all those soccer and hockey moms out there...you know, the ones who got Bush in office. That said, she's not presidential material in my mind. Stump til the cows come home and leave it at that, Sarah.
i want my leaders to be prepared, but maybe u prefer palin's - off the cuff, throw bs at the wall and hope something resonates style better in your leaders.
Remember when the teleprompter mysteriously failed early in Clinton's State of the Union, but he brilliantly gave the speech from memory? He carried on for half an hour before it worked again. Remember when Bush was in a debate and he seemed mechanical and hesitant in his answers, even more so than usual? Photographs showed a rectangular object on his back, under his shirt. His speechwriters were transmitting answers to him. It was a big thing for a few days. Then the media never mentioned it again, so everyone forgot. The media has a much shorter memory for Republican shenanigans than Democratic ones.
