Accurate enough to support the "KP is not a good in-season GM" argument. Very similar to the "Nate is not a good in-game coach" argument. Both have merit.

Okay what was he available for? I know it was Batum and we had to take a bad contract in return, which of course, I would have done because I like proven players. I will admit the one thing that scares me about Wallace is his injury history, but he such a great player, that it is worth the gamble to me.

Re: OT: Dallas close to a deal

I can see myself vacillating between the those two poles if I continue to post here. The attack stuff is so invigorating for now, though! I feel like a school boy again! Into the battle I march unafraid, unaware of what the coming days, weeks, and months will bring me.

Is Gooden a good man and/or help defender? Because that is what I am mostly looking for and I know Haywood is good at that. Howard may be younger, but I am not fond with guys with attitude problems and I know Pritchard is not fond of them either.

Oh, I still find some posters here to be rude. I'm cool with that, and I've adjusted my own style of play. Treat others as they treat you, or something like that. A defensive position, of course, but a necessity for a noob. I'm what you'd call a good in-game coach, I guess.

Re: OT: Dallas close to a deal

Gooden's not-so-hot on defense, and he certainly can't defend the post very well.

In the West, Haywood may actually be a plus in terms of making the playoffs, but a liability in a 7 game series. He isn't at all mobile, and I feel the poor guy would just get abused and exposed by the quicker, generally smaller 4/5s masquerading as 5s in the West. There-in lies the dilemma. Does Haywood guarantee a play-off berth? If so, who do the Blazers give up that might help them create mismatches in the playoffs?

Haven't watched him a ton, so I couldn't say, but I do know that he's a better rebounder than Haywood, and that he has a better defensive rating (104 to Haywood's 106). Haywood is admittedly more of a "true" center than Gooden, but I think I prefer the idea of getting a PF/C to fill in for now but back up both spots in the future once Oden's healthy again.

Maybe my lack of knowledge on Gooden has definitely shown and maybe he would be a good get for us, but I do not want Howard near this team tbh. Just isn't all that to me, and like I said, not fond of his attitude problem.

Perhaps you should watch him more. He's a helluva player. A slight headcase, but the guy can ball. That said, we have Batum.

I heard on the radio that Butler to Dallas is a done deal.

I wouldn't be thrilled with Howard either, but primarily because I think it would take Batum to get him, and I'd have to watch Nic abuse the Blazers for the next decade or so.

I have seen him a couple of times. He is a hell of a player when he wants to be. He plays lazy, and I don't want those type of players, thanks.

Remember when the Mavs traded for Kidd, and they floundered? It's not always smart to trade for a player.

Mark Stein just tweeted that the deal is Josh Howard, Drew Gooden for Bulter/Haywood/Stevenson.

A ballsie move for sure. Dallas just got better I think.

At least they just got better then Portland this year and potentially next season even if everyone comes back healthy.

They traded for Kidd a year after they got smoked in the first round of the playoffs so I don't think they started floundering so much as kept floundering.

And it's not like Devin Harris has lit the world on fire for the Nets.

Meh...I think people are way over valuing Butler here and Brendan "oh hey, it's my contract year, maybe this will be the first year I don't suck and I'll be able to trick someone into signing me to a bigger contract than my talent warrants" Haywood.
