Phoenix is basically getting cap relief and JJ Hickson for Amare.

This is on par with the Gasol/Kwame deal.

But I like how this increases Cleveland's chances to keep LBJ from bolting to New York.

    Steve Kerr

I read a snippet from an article (I think on realgm) about how the Suns were not looking for a salary dump, that they would require getting talent back, so Hickson would have to be included. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

    JJ Hickson
    Career PER: 13.6
PER this year: 14.3 (playing 19 MPG)

It's debatable he's even a better prospect than Cunningham.

Mind boggling how much more is available this year for a large expiring contract. To think that if we had Darius's expiring contract, we could have gotten Caron Butler or Stoudamire (even if it's just a rental) for nothing (Miles+Travis+Blake+Cunningham or something).

Hard to believe that is the best anyone is willing to offer for Amare.

I guess this is better than LBJ hooking up with Bosh somewhere. If that happens, that will cost us titles (if Oden gets healthy).

Would definitely make Cleveland favorite's this year, if they aren't already.

Trying to be a unbiased as possible here, but this is worse than the Gasol trade.

Damn! Cleveland is my 2nd favorite team, so i'd be stoked!

If they did get Amare, that would probably entice at least one free agent this summer (probably through a sign and trade since they probably don't have the cap space to do more).

Williams, whoever, LeBron, Amare, Shaq -- DAMN! And they got Verejou off the bench. Sick team. Easily the favorites, maybe for the next 10 years. Easily the best 2 players on one team. I hope it goes down because Then it makes it likely that a Portland (depending on health and development of roster)/Cleveland finals could happen (Cleveland has been my #2 team for a couple years now).

But this seriously has a chance to make Cleveland as good as the 90s Bulls if they do land a FA this summer... and super young core with Amare and LeBron.

Go Blazers! (I want Gerald Wallace or that a with Houston for Landy/Battier/Brooks)

Edit - It also takes the Suns out of the playoffs. And NO is probably out. So we need to beat out Memphis or Houston, which should be somewhat easy as long as we continue to get healthy.

who else would want him/ (could/would) resign him?

not a huge market for a guy who is going to demand 6/120 and plays zero defense.

This would be 10x as worse as Gasol trade.

Yeah, sounds like Miami decided to pass on Amaré, or not willing to give up anything (Beasley) for him.

This is what I've been afraid of. Our championship window is probably 2+ years away. It could be the 90's all over again - running into a dynasty in the finals a couple of times and coming up a little short. We actually ran into 2 dynasties back then (Pistons/Bulls) and just got beat by two really good basketball teams.

The question is, does Roy and Aldridge stack up against a LeBron/Amare pairing?
