Yeah, it was weak. But the Sixers were also the only team to even register a win in the playoffs against that awesome Lakers team. The fact they kept those fuckers from going undefeated in the playoffs is enough to make me warm to Iverson more than I'm naturally inclined.
Oden helped us get to the playoffs as a #4 seed last year. What seed of the playoffs has Durant taken the Thunder? Or Zach taken the Grizz? Zippo, Nadda, zero, zilch!! We'll be fine when he comes back for next year.
Oden rode the coattails of Brandon Roy. Put Oden on that OKC team last year and they'd still be a lotto team with a better chance at getting that #1 pick. Zach helped turn the Grizz from a joke to a respectable team that can beat you on any given night.
Damn, that would be a good big 3. But I think it took Zach being tossed around like like PapaG's manhood from team to team to get him to straighten out. If he stayed in Portland, he would have only got worse. IMO.
That Oden is dead and gone. He was a beast before the knee injuries. His athletic ability now is on par with a young Dale Davis. In other words, he's not the same player.
Of course, if we had Durant he'd be lucky to average 18 ppg in our glacially slow offense where the small forward's only role on offense it to stand in the corner and wait for an occasional kick out to launch a 3-pointer with less than 4 on the shot clock. Of course, with Roy and Zach dominating the ball, that 18 ppg may be a stretch. BNM
Dead and gone? I must have missed the obituary. Oden looked to be returning to his old physically dominant self before breaking his knee cap. And a broken knee cap is not the type of injury that robs a player of his athleticism. BNM
I beg to differ. He significantly lost his lateral quickness and not nearly as explosive.
If Greg can stay healthy he can be this
I guess it's good we didn't take Jordan. We had Drexler and there weren't enough basketballs to go around, right?
Last year yes, due to the microfracture surgery. This year, before the broken knee cap he was definitely showing more lateral quickness and explosiveness. Perhaps not yet back to pre-injury, but headed in that direction. I still don't think we've seen Oden in true game shape. He gained so much weight the year he sat out and still went into this season considerably heavier than he was at OSU. BNM.
