I think that even if he ends up in Houston he'll do fine, the coaches in both Houston and New York love players like Sergio. I really didn't see that trade coming.....few more hours.....I wonder what else is going down today.
Hope for him he ends up in NY. If there is a place for him to thrive - that's it. Good luck to Sergio.
Both coaches like point guards who can run and pass. But D'Antoni prizes shooting as well and Adelman values defense as well, so Rodriguez would find it tough sledding for either coach.
Ha! I went ahead and changed it before somebody else does! I love Sergio. Good luck to him in New York, or Spain, or wherever he ends up.
The Knicks turned their roster upside down and the only player they added was Sergio. To get Sergio (and Houston's #1 and the injured Tracy McGrady, who will retire in 2 months), the Knicks gave up their #1 picks in 2011 and 2012, which will be very high since the Knicks suck. But that's not all. To get Sergio, the Knicks also had to give up Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes, and Jordan Hill. They are trying to attract LeBron James, who will be impressed.
Yes, absolutely. The Knicks were quite willing to turn their roster upside down to get cap space. They really value cap space and they went out and got it. Fixed.
The Knicks value Sergio greatly. To get him, they gave up 2 very high #1 picks, Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes, and Jordan Hill. They'll change their whole system to make it work for Sergio.
this is the best possible situation for sergio(well it'd be better if he had talent playing alongside him but no competition at the pg position). if he can't at least be a legitimate backup with d'antoni, not sure how he's going to stick in the league.
If you want to run and win doing it, but your current team sucks and is overpaid, you want the best PG available and cap space to build around him. Corrected.
