"What really wins in the playoff's is grinding it out, the media get enamored by high scoring teams, and they underestimate everyone else."

Almost exact quote from Brain Scalabrine 1080 the fan

Make's me appreciate Nate's offensive style hearing from a recent World Champion... It's not easy to pursue this system, but once its honed it's highly effective.

A grind it out post up team? I agree. A grind it out jump shooting team? Not so much.

Yea I think that is the reason the blazers just shed 2 jump shooters. At least that is what I hope.

Every time I watch Boston they seem like a jump shooting team to me. (Except Rondo who can't shoot) But Ray Allen, Pierce, Rasheed, KG , eddie house.......they all shoot alot of jumpers. Nothing wrong with that if you make them. Pierce drives to the basket as much as Roy. KG posts up as much as LMA.

yup, if you don't have a dominant low post threat but can spread the court with a lineup of shooters, then slashers like Roy and Bayless can have a field day with room to drive. LA Camby and Howard can all pop a jumper and drag opposing Bigs out of the paint.

82games.com tells us that Boston shoots 65% jump-shots, but the Blazers shoot 70%. The offensive efficiency for Portland is much much higher, Portland is 6th best in the league, Boston is 14th.

Defense on the other hand is still Boston's calling card, They are #1 in the league, where we are a miserable #17. Interesting to note, however, that before GO went down - we were the #2 team in the league in defensive efficiency.

I know there was a lot of bickering at the start of the year when the team seemed disjointed - but I really felt that GO's presence made us a real title contender. We were playing suffocating defense before he went down.

it is a proven fact that scoring points wins basketball games. you simply cannot win with 0 points.

Can someone frame this and nail it up on the fucking wall?

It's never going to happen with this coach and these players.

Definitely did not execute the offense tonight. It will happen once this coach and team establishes the post. From there the jump shot will fall.

Good effort from Canby, but were gonna need a scoring center and some better plays run for LMA

They've only had 4 years to work something out. Seems "18 foot jumper" is the only thing they can think of.

That's a great idea. There is no rule against owning two franchises right? He can buy a franchise in Seattle, and use it as a farm team for Portland. Seattle could have bad years every year, and then trade their draft pick to us for players of the quality like Sergio!:NOTMARIS:

I think that the teams with fans that know more than the coach win in the playoffs. Trade Roy now because he is holding back this team.

Paul Allen should buy out every franchise. That way, he'd always win, no matter if he had he worst coach in the NBA and the worst All-Star in the NBA.

I am quite convinced Ronald McDillon knows 5 millions times more than I do about basketball.

That still doesn't get us anywhere.
