Jerry Buss doesn't fear the luxury tax or salary cap. It's one of the reasons LeBron allegedly wants to play there. He wants to play for a franchise who wants to win titles.

    lol

If Jerry Buss could get Lebron James, if that was even possible, he would absolutely jump at that opportunity.

I could never see Kobe and Lebron playing for the same team in the NBA. I get the feeling that Kobe doesn't like him very much.

^ I agree, Kobe doesn't like him at all, mainly because he's about to take his spot as the best player in the league. And as much as they say that they don't care about stuff like that, deep inside they do, they're competitors and want to achieve the GOAT status when their careers are done.

That team would be sick no doubt, but again I just don't see it happening, plus for LeBron it would be like taking the easy route, going to Kobe and PJax to get a ring. lol

edit: changed they're to their lol (silly mistake)

Exactly. I also think the fact that they are exact opposites personality wise plays a huge role in his dislike for him along with the fact that Lebron is challenging him for the titles of todays best. I just don't think Kobe respects him.

They got along fine during the Olympics and they've collaborated on those Nike commercials. The article mentioned LeBron has no issues with the Lakers being Kobe's team.

Right. I just don't think Kobe's at the point in his carreer that he wants to play with someone like Lebron and have to share the spotlight with him. And I think they would clash if they wre constantly together.

I can just imagine Lebron dancing around on the court before the jump ball and Kobe standing there with his ridiculous game face on burning up inside.

I think Kobe might welcome it because of how good of a chance at winning titles he'll have.

I agree. Kobe wants to win titles and pairing him with LeBron without completely tearing our team apart would be welcomed by him.

Im slowly convincing myself that this is a real possibility...lol

If Lebon says to CLE management:
" Im leaving CLE no matter what. I want to play for the Lakers more than any other team. Design a sign and trade with them to get something for me because if you dont I will just sign with NY, NJ, etc. as my option B."

I mean really...if those words are uttered out of his mouth we are golden...big IF....but that the entire point of the rumor/article.

Lebon has no 'ships guaranteed in NY even with another big name talent...Injuries are the only thing that could stop the Lakers with Lebron

Andrew, Artest (or Odom, I dunno, Odom would be more versatile), and Sasha for Lebron

    Fisher, Farmar
    Kobe, Brown
    Lebron, who cares
    Odom, Powell
    Pau, Mbenga

Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News: "LeBron James playing for the Lakers next year is such a far-fetched, preposterous, outlandish fantasy we have no other choice but to completely and utterly embrace it. And we have every right to, every reason to, because this is Hollywood. Crazy, whimsical dreams like this come true all the time for the Lakers. Just look at their history. They acquired Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the greatest player in the game at the time, from Milwaukee for four players in 1975. They lucked into Magic Johnson and James Worthy after acquiring draft picks (which turned out to be No.1s overall) from lowly Utah and Cleveland. The Lakers have always been fortunate like that, and probably always will be. It's part of their charm, and the main reason they've been the most glamorous team in the NBA since arriving here in 1960. ... The rumor has been out there for a few months now, with longtime NBA reporter Sam Smith floating it out of Chicago back in November. It picked up steam this week when a source close to Phil Jackson told Hoopshype.com that James had expressed interest in playing for the Lakers next year. Within hours, talk radio and Internet message boards were buzzing with the possibility. Some people dismissed it as far-fetched. The Lakers are too far over the salary cap, they argued, and there is no way James and Bryant can possibly coexist on the same team. Details, I say, details. Not only can it happen, if James really wants it to, it will happen."

IF LeBron signs with us to play with Kobe. I will laugh my ass off, if they did the press conference together....but in puppet form.
