Dunno 'bout you, but I love steak! Thick, grilled steak. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. For what it's worth, right now WINCO has the full slab of either rib eye or filet mignon for $3/lb. They come fresh in a sealed pack- kinda bloody, but the most tender steaks I have had in my life. I cut them (2") and grill to my heart's content.

Great price for us steak lovers.

For those of you who are vegans, drop dead. :ghoti:

Good stuff! Have you ever done your own dry aging? When I buy our Christmas roast, I buy it 3 1/2 weeks early and dry age it in our spare fridge. You have to get the temperature (35-38) and humidity (50-60) controls right, but it makes a huge difference.

BP, what grade of beef are those? That seems awful cheap for tenderloin and ribeye.

Filet Mignon is for women. Real men eat ribeyes.

    Bone-in ribeye.

Porterhouse is probably my favorite cut though.

Reminds me of a great Reverend Horton Heat song. I just looked it up for this thread and this video was genius:

Thanks for the tip! That youtube video made me want to get out and get me some beef for dinner tonight. Hopefully the Boise Winco has the same deal going.

I had a Wagyu ribeye last year, so overrated. It was grown in Idaho I believe. The worst part is they overcooked the first one and had to fire me up a new one. Dunno, there's too much fat in it that the flavors are muted. Give me a nice dry-aged steak anyday over that.

Someone else once told me that, as well. When I asked them where they buy their meat, they said, "Costco."
