Per Jay Allen on 95.5, Camby sprained his ankle running into the basket support at practice today. It was not the same ankle he sprained on the road trip. Said he was sent in for X-rays. Nate said that they don't believe it's serious, but Camby is questionable for the Denver game.
every time things look up... something happens ... from joe freeman and it doesnt sound good The injury bug bit the Trail Blazers yet again on Friday. Marcus Camby, whom the Blazers acquired near the NBA trade deadline to fortify the interior, injured his left ankle during practice and was scheduled to undergo X-rays Friday to learn the extent of the injury. During a intrasquad scrimmage, Camby ran into the basketball standard and was immediately pulled. He missed most of the two-hour workout. When practice was opened to the media, Camby was receiving treatment and was unavailable for comment. Coach Nate McMillan was hopeful the injury was not serious, but said his starting center would have X-rays taken as a precaution. “We’re hoping it’s going to be OK,” McMillan said. “We’re going to send him to get X-rays just to get a closer look at it.” It’s the second ankle injury Camby has endured during his brief, eight-game stint with the Blazers. He rolled his right ankle in his third game after being traded, at New Jersey on Feb. 23, and missed the following game at Toronto a day later. In seven appearances, Camby is averaging 3.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game for the Blazers.
Man that sucks. From what I had read, he as looking forward to practice because they hadn't really got to practice together yet full bore.
the only good news (assuming its not broken) is they have tons of practice time coming up with all the gaps between game
tape it up and get out there. god between having camby and oden n the roster... get use to seeing the words "underwent an xray" I N J U R Y - P R O N E - C E N T E R S
A negative X-ray doesn't mean much for an ankle. If it's a bad sprain, it could be worse than a break. I hope he'll be able to bounce back soon.
Ha! Now that's the Cambyman I've known and loved. (Well, not loved, but that's the saying.) That really bites if he isn't 100% against the Thuggets. We already needed our "A" game to have a good shot at it.
I'm still waiting for "THE" to finally give us some goods this team. Personally, I think he can be bought off.
