The only team that has a shot outside of LA is Denver. Dallas does not matchup well with Cleveland, and would probably be facing the same ref calls they had to deal with Dwayne Wade in the finals a few years ago. We all know how that turned out.
I'd like to see Denver take it, Melo vs LeBron for 7 games would be amazing to see. Plus LeBron can never seem to beat Melo so seeing LeBron make the sour cry baby face some more would be cool.
I would love to see Dallas win it all so David Stern is forced to give the trophy to Cuban. That would be a true kodac moment.
OKC. That way the media can jock Durant even more, and we can have lots more Oden v. Durant debates, plus it would make the whole Bowie-Jordan/Oden-Durant meme all the more meaningful
Hate the Lakers Hate the Jazz (even though I like Sloan) Hate the Nuggets (even though I like Karl) Bored with the Spurs Don't want Durant to win (petty, I know) That leaves Dallas and Phoenix. Meh--either one, I guess.
This basically fits my thinking perfectly. I hate the Jazz and the Nuggets even almost as much as I hate the Lakers. In fact a loss to the Jazz or Nuggets has me even more bummed than a loss to the Lakers. I'm not sure why. I would be okay with OKC as a team getting to the finals, except I don't think that OKC (the city not the team) has earned their success. They didn't have to suffer with a team built from expansion. They basically stole another city's team that had some promising players and have not seen the down times that most cities see. So, in that sense, I would not like to see OKC go. I won't be that upset if it is the Lakers going against Cleveland. I think Kobe v. Lebron & Shaq would be fun to watch.
Other because I don't like any of them, but I wish I could change my vote to Phoenix. I like Channing and have family in Phoenix so I have a soft spot for Arizona pro-teams.
I vote for "all the team planes crash en route to game destinations, leaving no survivors" once the Blazers are out of the playoffs. That might be petty. I'm comfortable with that.
Well said. Except I'm kind of tired of Amare too. So that leaves Dallas. I've always felt like Dallas has gotten jobbed out of a championship by luck/history/refs/own lack of spine/whatever. Kind of the most recent iteration of 2000 Portland and 2002 Sacramento. It'd be kind of fun to see them win it all. I can even set aside my natural bias against all things Texas. What do you know. I just now talked myself into joining the Dallas bandwagon. Hopefully they just win one ring, though. Mark Cuban would become insufferable.
