Why would PA or LM commit to Pritchard right now when a new contract/extension is going to have to be sorted out pretty soon?

Both sides are playing hardball right now.

Hopefully the bridge can be rebuilt between KP and PA.

I understand your point, maxiep, but in the end it all comes down to Paul Allen. If he thinks KP is doing a great job, then it doesn't matter what Vulcan's philosophy is. Paul Allen calls the shots.

I believe Canzano is wrong. I think that the Penn firing was a "shot across the bow". It was meant to warn KP that behavior, if continued will result in a firing. It is that simple.

Exactly. Penn and Pritchard were getting too arrogant to their peers within the organization, and much stronger in internal politics as a duo than individually, so they picked off the more expendable one.

By the way, when anyone thinks of Vulcan, think of Paul Allen's sister. She fires Ivy Leaguers freely, who are a dime a dozen to them. Allen and his sister aren't really driven by the profit motive, but they hire people who are to advise them. The mixed results are cutthroat one day, overpay someone the next.

Canzano is such an attention whore. He doesn't know any more than any of us when it comes to this topic.

Oh yeah. Like I've said before, I get you two mixed up. What's the difference, anyway?

You know, right before I posted that, I clicked back to the main page to look at the mods listed at the top, just to make sure you are still there, before I posted that you were. I saw Ed O, and I thought yeah, Shooter is still up there. So I posted.

I get you two mixed up. Sorry. I'm sure you're smarter and better looking.

    That's how I read it.

PA should cancel Canzano's show just to put Canzano in his place.

I think/hope posters are reading into the situation that PA won't back KP toomuch.

What I am hoping is going on is that they fired Penn for some reason. Jerk agent pulls KP's name into it and then treis to negotiate an extention on KP's behalf.

PA/Vulcan refuses to be pressured like this and will go one step further with this agent and not even give any indications KP will be extened this summer.

I really think this is a reaction to the idiot way the agent handled this. There is no way mamangement is going to reward that agent's tatic by giving him what he wants. Agent tried to play hardball with the Blazers but he was way in over his head and has caused a lot of restlessness for his client.

I like KP and want him resigned, but I would have played it the same way as management and make KP and his agent sweat it out. No one likes to be pushed around and manipulated . . . especially by an agent.

Paul Allen doesn't own the station, so it'd be hard to cancel his show.

I thought he owned the game . . . or one of his companies.

Well PA should buy the station with petty cash and then fire Canzano
