    Jon Fitch will not fight a replacement opponent.

    In related news, Kurt Pelligrino vs. Fabricio Camoes has been promoted to the main card.

    Good thing the CAT scan worked. Hate to see somebody get seriously injured due to a poor screening.

    As Joe Biden would say, "this is a big fuckin' deal".

    Failing a CAT scan is serious. Hopefully whatever issue Thiago is having can be easily fixed.

    Any kind of brain trauma, swelling, and what have you is career threatening.

    I hope Alves ends up being alright. I'd hate for this to be career threatening. I hope Fitch gets his win bonus paid out as well.

    I'd rather have seen Diaz vs Marham or Brown vs Almeida promoted to the main card, but oh well.

    Just read that Fitch will fight on the card, he'll be facing Ben Saunders who is itching to face Fitch. Jake Ellenberger will be paid his fight and show money due to the late notice of him not fighting.

    I think Dana allowed this because Fitch is a bigger name than Jake and Saunders is a known guy for his appearance on TUF and his win over Swick.

    whoops I got it backwards, Saunders lost to Swick but it was Davis whom he beat. Still he's had high profile fights.

    According to TMZ, who have taken an interest in MMA lately, Ben Saunders has a promise from Dana White that beating Fitch will put him on the fast track for a title shot, if not earn him one outright.

    Sucks to be Semtex/Koscheck/Paulo Thiago.

    I was having reservations about Saunders beating Ellenberger's wrestling now he has to face Fitch, who will probably control him even better. I can't see this turning out well for Saunders, that being said he has nothing to lose in this fight.

    Bad news: Thiago needs brain surgery to correct the problem the CAT scan revealed.

    Good news: its relatively minor and he can return to training in a few weeks.

    "You've got a vein, you've got an artery. A vein is low pressure; an artery is the high pressure. Once they touch inside your brain they cause bleeding, and they saw a vein and an artery were pretty close from each other, and they didn't know if it was something that I was born with, or if it was something that happened over the years," said Alves.

    "So what they do with the angiogram is they make a small incision on my groin, and they put a catheter inside. They shoot dye all the way into my brain and with the dye they can see clearly what it is, if it's something that needs to get fixed."

    "They put superglue between the vein and the artery. That’s what the doctors told me ‘just tell everybody you’ve got superglue in your brain right now, and you’ll be alright.’ So that’s what I’m going to tell everybody," said Alves. "That was the procedure pretty much."
