I would like to congratulate you for changing America and the world by posting articles about Barry Obama on a basketball message board. A basketball message board which serves the 23rd "largest" market in America. Your "message" must be reaching in upwards of 8 people. half of which already agree with you while the other half will never agree with you. Run Forrest run.
It may be a basketball message board to you, but there's a reason we have OT forums and talking about Barry is OT.
Yes, I understand the concept of an OT board. I just find your behavior on it bizarre. "Exercise in futility" doesn't do it justice.
Sorry, would have answered sooner but I've been been posting CNN articles on a Kansas City Royals OT forum. Um, what were we talking about? Or right... NO WAY! Obama is awesome! Republicans are jerks! Look! I even have a link! People will finally see I'm right after they read this bombshell! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-weber/republicans-the-damned-tr_b_524167.html No big deal DC. I just don't understand why a non Zers fan posts random articles on a random fan forum. For instance I've NEVER been to a Bobcats forum, let alone post anything on one, let alone stuff not basketball related.
FWIW, I see a lot of similarities between politics and sports, so the fit is pretty good. For starters, they're both something like a long soap opera, with day to day events that tell a story over a long period of time. They both have seasons - election years every other year and presidential elections every 4th would be the seasons of politics. There is a running scoreboard in politics, as well. The polls, election results, and the vote tally on legislation are the scores. Both have winners and losers. Both have strategy. Politicians and athletes have their foibles. It's big news when Bill Clinton or Tiger Woods gets busted with their indiscretions. I hope S2 is more than just a message board. Judging by how people hang here for hours on end, it's more of a community and the site and software simply enables people to converse. I happen to like the people in this community and enjoy the discourse with people who have similar interests. If the site facilitates people to share an interest in politics or restaurants or beer, all the better. I also happen to enjoy reading the links or articles others post. I'm sure other (than myself) people read them as well. Finally, this isn't a basketball site, it's a sports site. If you care to stick around and post about baseball during the basketball season, awesome. If you want to hang with the people you've come to know through this site and talk about other things after our favorite teams get bounced from the playoffs, I see it as a good thing.
I agree with Odd. When I first came here I noticed that Denny clogs up the OT board with articles bemoaning how bad off the Democrats are, how no one supports them anymore, how it's all over for Democrats, etc. So I posted that he seeds the board, which takes little work to copy and paste, hoping that others will put in the work and write original responses. (In e-mails I receive, conservatives like to pass along articles that others pass along to them. This takes no work from the sender. I don't have time to read them. The only e-mails I read are ones written by the sender. And that's all I send, too.) I posted on the BBB OT board a lot but hardly ever on this one. One reason is that I can't keep up with all the threads. Without Denny starting so many, there would be fewer, but they might be longer because people like me wouldn't be initimidated away by quantity. The other side: But maybe having fewer threads wouldn't cause them to be longer, so the total hit count would be lower, so his strategy is right to maximize the board's income. And of course it can be said that, if you want liberal articles posted, nothing's stopping you. Anyway, it's a more conservative OT board than BBB's, so I stay off it, but then I can't keep up with the basketball threads here, either. Just too much time required.
Doesn't anyone on here actually watch basketball? I realized the other day that Barry is good at two things, talking out of his ass AND shooting a basketball. He whooped Clark Kellogg's ass. So, talking about Obama on a basketball board is quite appropriate.
riiiiiiight maybe he should post stuff in a OT forum where this is hardly anyone to discuss with. Stupid Thread.
Sorry, I just can't figure out why someone who isn't a Blazer fan's first inclination after reading an article somewhere is to post the article on a Blazer forum off topic or not. Is it because this is one of the busier sections of the network of which you are a mod? Edit: Oh fuck it I don't even care anymore
I was going to post a comment about the difference between your teams, the Bulls and the Libertarians. Bulls being somewhat of a dynasty, Libertarians being something, uh, less than that. Then I realized while writing this that the Bulls aren't a dynasty anymore (duh). I still root against them because of those years when they were the top dogs, but I haven't spent nearly as much time as any Bulls fan would have appreciating (or not) the state of the franchise since MJ left. So, maybe there is a nice parallel after all between Bulls and Libertarians? barfo
Shitty thread. OddEnormous obviously has a problem with free speech, since this is a reactionary thread toward Denny Crane's own brand of free speech. Hi Dan!
There's no expectation of Freedom of Speech in a privately owned forum. Freedom of Speech actually means that Denny has the right to censor this place anyway he wants.
Well now! Conservative? I guess we need more liberals or independents to post! I can see the confusion. Off-topic in a blazer forum. That being said, I can understand why its here to begin with. The blazer forum is a nice community! A community that has been together for many years! There is nothing wrong with keeping them in the blazer forum to talk about life and world events. Nothing wrong with it at all. As for S2 being a basketball forum, that is just not true. In fact basketball is not even the first sports section listed in the forum index! And its not the only sports section as well. Denny Crane and I are friends. Similar to or username, I have leanings towards being a conservative democrat! As did Alan Shore. I just dont have time to post about my views as much. I watch msnbc exclusively and the only news I get from Fox is when liberal blogs or msnbc mention something they say. I think democrats are here. We just need to join in the fun!
