Some conservative predictions: Portland : 2-2 --> 50-32 OKC: 3-1 --> 51-31 Phoenix: 1-3 --> 52-30 San Antonio: 2-2 --> 50-32 That would leave us at 7, ahead of SA.
We have to beat one of Dallas or the Lakers (along with obviously beating OKC to own the tie breaker and cancel out our 1 loss if we do lose 1 and they win until we meet each other). The Spurs may be able to win out with how they have been playing barring tonight (I mean beating the Magic, Lakers and Cavs)? However they have just as much chance to lose to the Nuggets and Mavericks and possibly the Grizzlies.
probably should be listing the Jazz (instead of Phoenix) since they're in 5th... I'll do it Utah @ New Orleans @ Golden State vs. Phoenix STOMP
Thanks. I just figured Utah would win out as they have a pretty easy schedule, while Phoenix could possibly drop.
One scenario that no one has brought up is us winning the division. If Denver and Utah lose all their games and we win all ours, we can finish 3rd or 4th, but homecourt advantage would depend on individual records in the matchup.
Just seems unlikely. Utah has a pretty easy schedule remaining against Golden State, New Orleans, and a tougher opponent in Phoenix. Denver plays the Spurs and Lakers, and the Suns. Even if they lost those three and we won out, they would still have to beat Memphis since they own the tie breaker over us, and I don't see them losing to Memphis. Would be awesome, but not very likely.
2 cool/funny things from the flight home. We were watching the highlights on SportsCenter and when they showed LA get rimchecked on his dunk attempt in the 2nd, EVERYBODY was laughin' at him! And Camby got an iPad. Was watching a movie on it, very cool!

Just think of all those head scratching losses we had at home in the middle of the season. This team could easily be #2 out West had the ball bounced our way a couple times and we didn't blow big leads in the 2nd half of games.
This is why we come here. Jason quick has nothing on you! Forget inside the locker room. We get inside the plane.
Or how about this? What if we just split the season series with Utah and Denver? That would be what, 3 mores wins? We would be in 2nd place and control our own destiny. I would never expect us to win those season series but a split in those kind of series is so important. Oh well ...
This is pretty much mind boggling win you try to play things out but the more I look at it the more 2 things stick out to me. 1. Believe it or not Memphis will play a huge role the last few games as they play @SAS, @DEN and @OKC. I would like to think that a team that over-achieved this year can steal one or more of these games but Im not holding my breath. 2. It seems more likely that SAS, POR and OKC will all go 2-1 in the next 3 games and this will come down the last game of the regular season. What a crazy night that will be. If it does come down to that night at least we are at home against a beatable team.
