1. Camby Steps Up For Blazers By John Hollinger ESPN.com PORTLAND -- It's an ongoing theme of the Blazers' season: Every piece of bad news has been greeted with an unexpected bolt of energy that seemingly came out of nowhere. When they lost Greg Oden for the season, they rallied to beat Houston. When they lost Joel Przybilla just 18 days later, they beat Dallas on the road. They lost Brandon Roy three times, and responded by beating San Antonio, Orlando and the Lakers. So Monday, when the Blazers found out Roy's "bone bruise" was actually a torn meniscus in his knee that would probably end his season, we shouldn't have been surprised how they reacted. Portland started slow but stormed back from en eight-point halftime deficit with reserves of energy that didn't seem possible, and won a crucial playoff seeding battle with Oklahoma City, 103-95. *edited*
Excellent article. You've got to love the Blazers' heart. This has been a maddening but exhilerating season.
Among other things, I appreciate that he doesn't unrealistically tease the chances of Roy's return this season. Give me the bad news straight. If Brandon doesn't step back on to the court this season (like he probably shouldn't) some here will be questioning his manhood/pain threshold. There is no reason to encourage that sort of idiocy. Did Hollinger actually watch the game or just look at the box score? Portland didn't start out slow... Quite the contrary. The only reason they had to storm back from the halftime deficit was because McMillan went back to a platoon bench in the 2nd quarter that totally killed momentum and made it an uphill battle the rest of the way. I love that the guys fought back, but McMillan needs to can that strategy in a hurry or we'll be lucky to win a game in the playoffs. He went away from it in the second half yesterday and we carried momentum through to the finish. Shocker.
In his defense, I have in the past copied complete articles from ESPN Insider, and he has warned me about it. I never do it on purpose. But this time I got threatened to get suspended from this site. Whoever is Minstrel's boss on here, is this real? All the bullshit people do on here and I get threatened to get kicked off. I hope he wouldn't have the power to ban me over something like this with nobody else's input.
Ouch. Hopefully he was late arriving or caught a nap during the game, otherwise my respect for his attention to detail just went down several notches.
I don't think so. As HCP has said, he's continually posted paid articles. Without a link to the article (which is also required by "fair use"), it was a reasonable assumption that this was also from Hollinger's paid content. There's an easy way to avoid this...HCP could stop posting entire paid articles and include links.
See what happens when you indulge in the alias game. But I believe in this case he has you confused with your evil twin the LPA (Latino Precipitating Agitation)
