I was just talking to my mom about the house I grew up in. She just recently went by and talked the the owners who have lived there since we moved out and the son, who's now in his late 20's, told her he's seen a ghost in the form of a young girl. I never saw anything but I can recall feeling a presence and having "sometime" enter my body while I was walking down the stairs one time. Kinda trippy because I've always thought something was going on when I was there but nobody else did. Anyone else have a ghost story?
Never seen one, never felt one, never had a weird experience. I don't believe in them at all. I have friends that swear they've seen/experienced such things, but until have a similar experience I will not believe.
No ghosts, but my wife and I saw a crazyfast UFO just south of Roseburg about 8 years ago. It darted into the mountain at an amazing speed, and we were both expecting some sort of explosion since it was dark outside. Nothing happened. It was a trip. We still have no idea what it was, and we even checked the papers down south for news of an air crash for the next week or so.
I worked at a library in my teens and I had the key to put in overtime at late at night when nobody was there. I was browsing the net and I heard clear footsteps directly above me. I turned on all the lights thinking somebody fell asleep in the law library upstairs. Nobody. Nothing. And I'm agnostic. I don't know how to explain it.
the one thing I took away from Ghost Hunters, is that people can sometimes feel like they are being watched if there is a high EM field. Maybe your house had some bad wiring?
I think it's stupid that Ghosts only come out at night, in lonely places, when only one person is there. Isn't that stupid? Is there some sort of Ghost etiquette that we're not aware of? Why don't they just come out during the day? I mean, how many people have a Ghost story that is mid day in a crowded McDonalds? I just don't buy it. I think there are a lot of people with great imaginations coupled with great fear.
The house was built in 1888. I don't know about wiring issues. Also, the neighbors told them that someone had died in the house.
It was a bright white light about the size of what you'd think was a large aircraft, and roughly a half-mile or so away, but it flew exactly horizontal across the sky, no sound, and then darted downward into what we thought was the outline of one of those southern mountains at about a 45 degree angle. When there was no crash, we looked at each other and said "did you see that?". We both saw it. She was driving, I was in the passenger seat. We still can't explain it, but we don't tell many people that story for obvious reasons. I have never seen anything move that fast in my life, and I doubt I ever will.
I have quite a few, all of which occured in the same location. Honestly, prior to my experiences (or whatever the fuck you want to refer to them as), I was as skeptical as "the next guy." I always laughed at the notion of ghosts, hauntings, and the like. Anyways, just after high school, I was taking some classes at PCC-Sylvania, as were three of my best friends, so we decided to just rent a house near campus for a while. It wasn't long after we'd moved in until I started hearing what sounded like (random) inaudible voices, footsteps and other random noises that seemed a bit odd or out of place, but most of the time I just figured it could be one of the roommates up to some random B.S. Well, let's just say I got a hair-raising notification one night that my suspicions were well-warranted, even though I'd never actually thought to myself that "this place is haunted," or anything, prior to that point in time. The house had two living rooms on the first floor--a large one right by the front door, and a smaller one down the hallway that was sort of attached to the kitchen and dining room areas. One Saturday night, I'd gotten home from work and nobody else was home. I grabbed some food from the kitchen and went back into the front living room to watch some college football. On the wall, above the TV, were these three Japanese paper mache masks, that my friend's mom had given us (who knows why). The one that hung in the center was supposed to be accompanied by this fancy silk veil/scarf type thing. So, I'm sitting there watching football and, out of fucking nowhere, the most intense feeling of intuition I've ever had told me to took to my left, where there was nothing more than a couple of feet between me and the corner of the room. It was seriously like something told me took look to my left, although I didn't hear a "voice" actually say it. The split-second that I reacted to look left, the entire left side of my body went numb and fuzzy, like when your foot falls asleep. And when I say the left side of my body, I mean dead-fucking-on, symmetrically, from head-to-toe. Just as soon as I looked to my left, I inherently looked straight ahead again, back in the direction of the TV, and the veil on the mask blew off at an incredible speed and ended up on the floor... in the entry way to the living room, about 10 feet away. Exactly where it would've gone if something had exited the room at an otherwordly rate of speed. Looking back, it's like I somehow sensed the presence of something near me and as soon as I reacted it fucking BOUNCED! After I sat there in shock for a couple of seconds, I grabbed a box-knife and a cordless phone that was sitting on the coffee table--like either one was going to do shit for me in this situation, in retrospect--and ran outside until one of the roomies showed up. I'd never seen any kind of shit like this before in my life! I know it may not sound scary, or whatever, but let me just fucking tell you what... I was fucking scare shit-less, man! This ended up just being my first encounter that occured at this house. There were numerous witnesses to different happenings that occured later on--including the levatating/throwing of spatulas in the kitchen on Superbowl Sunday, etc. I'd never experienced anything like this before I moved in there, and I haven't experienced anything remotely like it ever since I moved out (August of 2001). Yeah, it's safe to say that I believe in the paranormal!
My wife lived in an old house in North Portland in her late teens - early twenties. She said they would hear sounds from the attic of what sounded like old ladies playing cards or bingo at night. She also said a few times things would go missing soon after someone set it down and then randomly show up on the kitchen table.
living in new england.... everyone has a ghost story. i do believe in ghosts and demons. however very and i mean very few people are actually able to see them. its a special energy your body gives off that attracts them. new england has always said to be one of the most haunted areas on earth.
That's an amazing story. You should go back and talk to the people who currently live there. See if they've expirienced anything.
I agree, but my dad saw a "ghost" in Thailand during broad daylight with a group walking with him. He was backpacking on the border of Thailand and Vietnam where there used to be a lot of conflict during the war. He said he saw a female who was completely naked in the upper body carrying a military backpack and camouflaged khakis.
My mom grew up in Norway and her family had a summer house on one of the Fjords. She has stories of the fireplace starting by itself, doors slamming and a very powerful feeling of not being welcome when she was there as a kid. They had a guest leave early on one occasion because they were so scared. I would have been out the door the first time the fucking fireplace started on it's own.
