Bayless is much better than Rudy. I want him starting at SG. We may need Diener in the playoffs if Roy can't play. Get him some run now.

Are you on crack? Bayless is no where near the player Rudy is.

What the fuck? Are you serious? Rudy has averaged 6 more minutes per game than Bayless and Bayless has still averaged more points than Rudy. When has Rudy ever stepped up as a starter? When has Rudy proven to be any more than a spot up three point shooter? Remember when Bayless started vs San Antonio and had 31 pts and 7 assists? When has Rudy done that? You've got to be fucking kidding me.

You've made no argument in favor of Rudy. Learn the game, then post.

Bayless is still looking like he should have stayed in college, and gets beat by his man more often than not.

He's got sporadic bench relief written all over him.

Rudy is a thoroughly seasoned vet who's played in bigger games than anyone else on the team, and is better than Jerryd at every single phase of the game.

If Rudy doesn't start, Webster will.

Bayless scores more points in less minutes. Bayless gets more assists in less minutes. Bayless shoots more free throws in less minutes.

As for big games, Rudy was put in the starting lineup during in Game 6 vs Rockets last season. It was the biggest game of his NBA career. He scored 2 points on 1 of 7 shooting in 41 minutes. Bayless scored 2 points in that game in 3 minutes.

Sorry, the facts don't support your argument at all.

At least KS is giving somewhat of an attempt to back his opinion. What are you doing?

I think we've seen as much Diener as we'll ever see in a Blazer uni.

Diener is ahead of Mills in the rotation, so you'd think he'd get the minutes if Miller or Bayless get injured.

I think Mills is showing tonight that he should be ahead of Diener.

I'm going to throw a curve ball here. I want Martell to start at 2 guard over both Rudy or Bayless and that's because he can guard 2s and 3s and is no more or less likely to hit a three than either Bayless or Rudy.

The point KS is trying to make is to ridiculous to argue. And his use of stats to promote his idea is equally ridiculous. All he is going to do anyway is to continue to whine about Bayless no matter what anyone says.

Stats can be used to argue that Travis Diener is better than Jerryd Bayless. But he isn't.

    http://www.dwightjaynes.com/

Jerryds career stats are not very impressive. Sure he's had some nice games, but he remains pretty much a one dimensional player, and a poor jump shooter. When teams shut down the drive like they all do now that they are expecting it, he doesn't have much to offer. Despite what the stats show he is probably a better player than Travis Diener, but he is not even close to being as good of a basketball player as Rudy Fernandez.

Rudy has shown the ability to shine under pressure....I say go with the experience here.

I still wish that Bayless had stayed at Arizona for at least one more year to refine his skills.

Nate started Rudy in Game 6 of the 2009 playoffs. It was the biggest game of Rudy's NBA career. He played 41 minutes and he scored only 2 points on 1 of 7 shooting. Shine under pressure? He hasn't shone that yet.

Pretty much like I said. You continue to whine about Jerryd Bayless no matter what. The stats you pull out of your ass don't hide the fact he is a one dimensional player without a jumpshot. Fortunately this fact hasn't been overlooked by the coaching staff. If he doesn't get traded over the summer, next season will surely be his last in a Blazer uniform.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Unfortunately, Rudy could be characterized as a no-trick pony. He appears to have a wide range of skills, but since he can effectively use none of them without someone else setting him up, he ends up without any true weapon. He can't create his own shot off the dribble, he needs to be set up for an open shot. He can't pass off the dribble, he needs to already be open when he receives a pass in order to set someone else up. He can't get to the hoop through traffic.

That is why "one trick pony" Bayless has actually been more productive than Rudy. Not because Bayless has been great...he hasn't been. It's because Rudy's game is extremely ineffective.

Both have a fatal flaw to their game. Rudy can't handle the ball in traffic, Bayless can't hit a jumper. Both of them would see their games jump enormously if they could fix their mega-flaw.
